Title: Did anyone notice?
Description: Mistake made yesterday
KKAngel9 - October 2, 2006 05:05 PM (GMT)
I didn't catch this last night but when I was able to rewatch the part close to the end on trackpass, the announcers made a mistake and didn't correct themselves. They called the 19 Mayfield's pit, which it isn't. I don't know how it happened but don't you think that they would remember by now that it is no longer Mayfield in the 19 and hasn't been since August? Anyone else catch this mistake?

I was screaming so bad at that point. I was screaming because Kasey spun out. I was screaming because they were calling the 19's pit Mayfield's and not Sadlers. That whole part of the broadcast pissed me off. Freakin' morons in the booth yesterday.

I swear at the beginning of the race the KS announcer guy called Matt Kennsith Mike Kennsith.

Yeah, I definitely caught that. And that actually made it to "We Wonder..." on NASCAR.com this week.

I have to say that I'm not surprised it made it onto there because people keep catching those mistakes. The announcers really need to get their names straight or keep a little cheat sheet infront of themselves to remind them who drives what car.

The recurring theme with this seems to be Bill Weber.
That's all I've got to say about that. I promise I'm not letting my crush on Wally cloud my judgment! :lmbo

I really don't like the announcers that we have now, I just wish that all of the races would be broadcasted on FOX

Seriously, these guys are supposed to make NASCAR look good? That crew always sounds uneducated. It's embarrassing. I miss DW calling the races. :(

It happens. I heard an interview with Kasey, I think it was last weekend or the weekend before, the reporter asked him something about teammates and he started to say Jeremy before he said Elliott so it came out, "Jer-Elliott".
