Title: Ohhh this article makes me mad

Scrapbookgirl9 - September 28, 2006 08:56 PM (GMT)
Kahne's odds long -- even at 1.5-mile tracks

guess what buddy? All he can do is go out there and do his best each week and win some races, let the points fall how they are going to fall. But stats also show us that most of the title contenders still have a bad race ahead of them.....and the stats show Jimmie Johnson made up 239 points in 6 races, Kasey has 8 to make up 182. Sure is it going to take the right things happening? Of course, but it can be done and the best thing that Kasey can do.....is go out there and win and make the others try and beat him, cause thats what he did when everyone wrote him out for making the Chase and thats the same thought process he has to have now.....go out there and win, do your best and make the rest of them perform, the pressure isn't on him, cause everyone is counting him out the pressure is on the 7 guys ahead of him.....and they better watch out cause the Kahne Train is ready to roll through!

Kasey will show them

racefan9 - September 28, 2006 09:23 PM (GMT)
Kasey can make up those points. I know it!

racing_kahne - September 28, 2006 10:21 PM (GMT)
I emailed the jerk earlier in the week because of the nasty stuff he said about Kasey in Cross'Words and his reply was basically what he said in that article. I replied back and totally proved him wrong and he never replied. Obviously he has something against Kasey. Whatever. We all know Kasey is going to prove them all wrong.

P.S. That crap about history is bull. Two years is not long enough to establish proof of a trend. Besides, anything is possible. A number six seed had never won the Super Bowl before but guess what, Pittsburgh did it.

carriekins - September 28, 2006 11:12 PM (GMT)
I'm pretty sure Kasey pissed in Cross's Cheerios or something because he's been talking smack all week. (Funny, though, after Kasey won at Lowe's, Cross was all up in his stuff and couldn't say enough about him.)

All Kasey can do is go out there and have the best races possible, and not worry about anything else. Let his driving do the talking while the fans call the naysayers' bluff every week.

And the whole "the 19 crew is now the 9 crew and they sucked in the Chase the last two years" bs is just that -- complete and total bs. I'm not trying to step on any toes or anything like that, but Kasey has proven that he's a bit of a better driver than Mayfield, and Kasey and Kenny have proven, together, that they have something that was lacking at EMS prior to this year: actual chemistry.

The fact that Kenny used to listen to Kasey ramble on the flight home when everybody else was sleeping speaks volumes to me. The team is finally right -- the pieces are finally together for that crew to prove exactly what they're worth. I emailed Bob Margolis and told him flat-out that this is not a 9th-place team, and that's not where they're going to finish.

And, frankly, even if they do finish 9th? Last year they finished 23rd! A 14-place pickup? Really? We're going to take this year and call it disappointing based on a 9th-place finish? It's bogus. Every writer is on notice except for like, 5, lol. Kasey's got 5 wins this season, and I highly doubt that's where he's going to stay. This year has been amazing and it pisses me off that people are so quick to write it off based on the Chase, and so quick to forget last season and the amazing turnaround he's had.

Grrrr. I feel better now. B)

Exactly. The team is right.

But you know what I say? Let these guys have their day to say whatever they want. We'll see who's wrong after Homestead.

I couldn't agree more. Let the nay-sayers say what they want now and we'll see whose right after Homestead.

Ditto! :clap

This guy has nothing better to do than to be negative...for some reason he is focusing it all on Kasey and the team, well they will show him! I'll be watching to the very end with bells and whistles, and my Kasey gear on...and I have every confidence in them! :train All aboard!

I sent him a very simple message. I love the "piss in cheerios" phrase so I asked him if Kasey had. He'll be proven wrong though, and that's all that counts.

Hee, I borrowed it from Kari.

Duane Cross is just a biznatch. I've never loved him. And I'm pretty sure that after all is said and done, he's gonna hate the Kahne Train. Which is fine. There's no room for him anyway.

I'm amused that Ryan Smithson keeps changing his tune when it comes to Kasey, but at least he now says he'll finish in the top 3 this year. (Which, might I add, I'm perfectly okay with?)

yeah, I don't want him on the Kahne Train, he is an ass

everything I've read from him is assinine

Wow what a jerk. I don't like this guys attitude one bit. I think Kasey is gonna do great in the next few races and show them all how its done, but even if he does finish the season 9th in points thats ok with me because thats the best he has ever finished in the chase, its been an amazing season for him, and it just means the best is yet to come.

Carriek928 - September 29, 2006 04:06 AM (GMT)
Shall we make a sign that bans Mr. Cross from the Kahne train?

Hey...do you think he might be related to you-know-who? Some or most of you may know who I am talking about...lol :lmbo

haha, we might have to make a sign for Homestead when Kasey comes back to win it for all the "haters"- actually I despised Jimmie for that, but I would make a sign that said "there is something to believing"

Erica DOES have a point with that one...it's not like what he's writing doesn't make sense, at least going by the data we do have and what not.

But, I still say Go Kasey!

Oh, I know that. My frustrations come from the fact that in the past two weeks he's been VERY negative in regards to Kasey, moreso than he has been in regards to Kyle Busch, whom I believe to be in a more dire position points-wise than Kasey. And, in the past he's been the first to call Kasey overrated. And he's just snide and rude in the way he writes.

Personally, I'm at the point where I'm tired of hearing it -- or, I guess, reading it, because I don't think it's necessarily fair to have it beaten to a slow death every single week.

Nic C. - September 29, 2006 05:16 PM (GMT)
I haven't read the artical... mostly because well I'm trying to keep the positive vibes going... not only for Kasey but for myself... but I don't enjoy Mr. Cross... I love how he's negative about someone but then quick to jump on the bandwagon w/ them when they do good... so I take what he says w/ a grain of salt...

As long as Kasey, the 9 Team and all of EMS think they have a chance... that's all that matters to me... cause when they do pull it off (weather that be getting the cup or a good finish in the points) then it kind of throws it all back in the nay sayers face...

MaryLovesNASCAR - September 30, 2006 01:09 AM (GMT)
I saw that article on NASCAR.com and rolled my eyes. I wasn't going to read it, but I wanted to see what everyone was talking about so I did.

"History says perhaps we do know" and I say he can take his opinion and ram it (pun intended) somewhere. Ofcourse, that's solely my opinion and it's because I don't like his attitude or his writing, much in the same way he seems not to like Kasey. I guess we both have different opinions. Alright, I'm off to bask in my happy vibes again. B)

LOL, I do too Helena!

And Carrie? Do what I did last year. Don't read the negative articles. Everyone and their brother was writing last year that Jeff was washed up and he was never going to contend again. I would read them and get pissed off. I decided to stop reading them, because I knew that Jeff could and would overcome. And now he's 2nd in points.

If you believe that Kasey can and will, just believe. Don't worry about what the media says.

:)

Oh, I know you do!

I had a good conversation with my dad today...he think's Jeff Gordon's still got a lot of wins left in him.

carriekins - October 2, 2006 11:24 PM (GMT)
By the way... this was in today's edition of Cross's Words:

QUOTE
I am just wondering why you dislike Kasey Kahne so much? Isn't this the second week in a row you have been on him? I can make you a promise/guarantee, he will not end ninth in the points. You must have forgotten that he has won five races this year. That isn't too shabby, is it? I just don't understand where you get off slamming him.
-- Kelly

I have not slammed Kahne, just merely pointed out the facts. Set aside the rose-colored glasses and understand that five wins isn't too shabby -- but the team still lacks consistency for whatever reason.

Maybe "jinxed" is a more valid explanation for the team's poor showings in the Chase the past three years ...

So now we're jinxed, instead of just sucking. I don't really know which is better? I wonder how many Kahne-related emails he received last week...

why does everyone have to get all worked up about every article that doesnt show the sun shining up kaseys ass? how was that article that bad, because he pointed out that kasey wasnt the dominant 1.5 mile track driver? big deal.

I only posted that because it was a response to a question asked earlier in this same thread.
