Damage control for potential sponsors would be my guess. (I notice she didn't mention General Mills this week. ) Erin and Ray have got to go out and get a new sponsor for 2007. In the past, Erin would never comment on Jeremy's remarks/court filings (to confirm or deny) - but now it looks like she may have lost her sponsor (at least in part) because of them.

So they probably want to make sure Erin seems like - if not a victim, an innocent party to an Evernham Motorsports dispute that should have no bearing on her marketing potential. (I'm sure the potential sponsor reps are no dummies, but Erin and Ray may feel like they have to try to present a rosy view, can't blame them for that.) Notice how she ends that statement:
