Title: Official WE BELIEVE Post Dover race

Scrapbookgirl9 - September 24, 2006 10:45 PM (GMT)
All right.......so here it is, I was at work today though I tried to come in when I could to post

But we all know the driver and team are down a bit and of course we are down......

BUT there is no giving up and 182 points is def possible in 8 races. Remember this is the team that was 90 points out with 2 races to go to get in the Chase and most were writing them off and they went out and DID IT! 182 points in 8 races......thats nothing. That's making up 22.75 points a race and thats not but about 6 or 7 positions.

Do we need some other guys to have problems? Of course it would be great and if past Chases are an indicator.....everyone will have their bad race. And so far in the 2 races this year in the Chase, we've seen at least 2 Chasers have problems so that means the trend will probably continue.

Kasey says they'd probably have to win all 8 to have a shot......well you know what, maybe not that many but if anyone can do it they can! He's got some AWESOME tracks coming up for him and the 9 team thats for sure! But let's not forget that Jimmie Johnson was 248 points out in 2004, won 4 races and only lost the championship by 8 points......so we can do it.

They just have to go out and run the best they can, try to win races and let the cards fall........thats how they did the last few races before the Chase thats how they need to do the next 8. The pressure is pretty much off, most everyone is going to write them off.....so just go out there and show them you aren't going down without a fight.

This team has a lot of fight in them, we saw it today sure they were down but they never gave up. They got that car fixed and it was fast when he got back on the track! And they gained some valuable points. As I stated many times before "a championship often isn't defined on your best days, but how you handle your worst" and the 9 team handled things very well today.

This team proves week in and week out that the 3 words Dedication. Drive. Determination. are what they are about and its what us fans are about. I'm not throwing in the towel......with their track record this year if there is a team that can make up 182 points with these tracks coming up its THIS TEAM.

Can anything happen? Yea it can and I certainly don't know if this will be the year Kasey wins the Cup or what the cards hold. But I do know I'm not giving up, they aren't giving up and they are going to go out there and work their hardest to do the best possible....and us fans, well we are just going to go work hard on supporting our driver.

Right now no team is showing as clear cut to win this thing........Harvick looked to be it last week and his engine blew this week. Matt's been solid but they ran out of gas. Jr had a flat tire, Kyle blew an engine......

its still anybody's championship.

Our Chase starts at Kansas.........the 9 team goes from there, they go in and they just go for wins and getting all they can get out of the car.......let the cards fall, don't worry about the points. They just gotta do what they do best. They didn't win 5 races earlier this year by luck, they are a solid team and they have a lot of fight in them, the best is yet to come. Honestly we could see double digit wins this year, it wouldn't surprise me.

It starts at Kansas.......let's go!

Dedication. Drive. Determination. WE BELIEVE!

They're not going to give up. I know they can fight their way back up there.

Anything can AND will happen.. it's not over 'til they take the checkers at Homestead. They've got some tracks coming up that Kasey's done good at.. it doesn't necessarily that he'll win at them, but he should do well at them.. and then there's some that aren't that great for him... Talladega. But those guys know what they need to do, and they CAN do them!

But, if they can't win it, I'd like to see them finish in the top 5 at least. He has MANY more years ahead of him to do it. We know that he has the potential.. but if it's not meant to be this year, then it's not meant to be. He's had a great season.. none of them should be hanging their heads.

KKAngel9 - September 24, 2006 10:49 PM (GMT)
Well Said! I totally agree.

Most definitely! I believe!

I also BELIEVE in this team. I think Christy did a fabulous job expressing how determined this team is. This team has won 5 times this year, and if I am correct in everyone of those races they have had to fight back from some kind of problem whether it be a speeding penalty, handling problem, missing lug nuts, or debris on the grill. But everytime they have come back, just like they can come back from this week. If he can lose 60 points in a race who says he can't make them back up in a race.

I know the Kasey and Kenny and the whole 9 team have it in them to go out there and win more races. They are not going to just roll over and let this championship go. It might seem that way today, but I bet once they get back to the shop go over everything they will feel differently tomorrow.

I will support Kasey, Kenny and the 9 team to end, win or lose they are the best team out there.

Jennifer - September 24, 2006 11:05 PM (GMT)
Kasey and the 9 team are definitely not out of it yet. Alot can happen in these next 8 races. I believe the team is gonna do whatever they can to get wins and the most points they can get. It's not going to be easy, but they still have a chance and they did make up 90 points in 2 races

Scrapbookgirl9 - September 24, 2006 11:05 PM (GMT)
Found this and I thought it is a interesting view from our boy before today......

QUOTE
Kahne was asked how many bad races a driver could afford, as if he could possibly know the answer.

The answer made sense.

“It depends on how you do after your ‘mulligan’ (meaning ‘bad race’). If you win seven races and have three mulligans you’ll still come pretty close to winning the championship,” he said. “Otherwise, you’re going to have to be consistent, and I don’t think anyone is going to win seven races.

“I’d say one (mulligan), maybe two, but probably just one.”

Well Kase, you used yours but you can def go out and there and do all you can to make up for it and have that chance

Melissa - September 24, 2006 11:10 PM (GMT)
At dinner my Dad said Kasey was out of it.

I said, "It ain't over till it's over. Kasey was 90 points out of the Chase going into California. At the end Of Richmond he was 16 points in the Chase. That means he made up over 90 points in 2 races. I have no doubts that he can make up 200 in 8 races."

Well he actually only has to make up 182 points in 8 races.

The phrase "give up" is not in this team's vocabulary. They won't give up and neither will this fan.

Neither will this one! I know in my heart that this team can do it! Kick ass next week, boys!....and as Christy said, "The Chase starts in Kansas!" :ohyea

kahne krazy - September 25, 2006 12:39 AM (GMT)
I have learned in sports that no one is ever counted out of the equation because if they have enough heart to go after something they can, thats what this team has, heart!

I agree with all of you!! We have to keep the faith and believe in our driver cause he can really do this with the team he has!

So I AM A KASEY KAHNE AND # 9 TEAM BELIEVER!!!!

Princess_Sara400 - September 25, 2006 12:56 AM (GMT)
He can do it. No worries

~*Diana*~ - September 25, 2006 01:55 AM (GMT)
So I'm at my friends house and get this call, its my boyfriend telling me Kasey wrecked and I was pritty darn sad. I knew it would be really hard for them to come back from something like this but then I thought about how he got into the chase and smiled because if he could do that under that kinda pressure then he can do this. Kasey is so talented and has such an amazing team that they can do anything out on that track. Plus its only his third year in Nextel, if he doesn't win this year he has the glory of getting in. You don't have to win the Chase your first year in it, yeah it would be awesome but in my opinion this season has already been awesome for him. Winning the championship would just be icing on the cake!

I couldn't agree more! It's going to take a lot more then one bad race for this team to give up. I know I won't give up on them... never!

smokeyslost - September 25, 2006 04:19 AM (GMT)
Rusty Wallace said on ESPN that he believes Kasey is still in the hunt as he used his mulligan this week and Kasey still has plenty of tracks left in which he flourishes (my word). Thanks Rusty for helping a brotha end his day on a good note.

K Bear - September 25, 2006 04:58 AM (GMT)
I believe Kasey can and will win the championship. He's been down before and bounced back. We all knew that these two tracks were going be an obstacle to overcome. He's not out of this by any means. He's a great driver and has a great car. I've always perfered charging into something with my back against the wall rather than having everything handed to me. He's going to charge ahead and take that cup!

I *heart* Rusty! I seriously do. Next to Kasey, he's probably my favorite (retired) driver. I miss seeing him out on the track. :(

Back from my two-week hiatus in Taiwan, believe it or not:

I STILL think he has a decent shot. The past couple of years has shown that the drivers are allowed at least one mulligan, depending on where they stand.

Yes, I was proved wrong about whether he made the chase or not, and I don't wish to rehash that. But I think he's still got a good chance. Things will have to go his way, and they'll have to perform. Well. But I still think it can happen.

Home from Dover. That was painful.

I still believe they can come back from this. Sure, it's not going to be easy, but I think they can come back from it. Like many of you already said, Jimmie came back from over 200 points out to get 2nd and Kasey made up 90 points in 2 races...there are still 8 to go, a bunch of them are good tracks for Kasey. I think he and the team can do it.

Well we know Ray believes from the article.......

so if Ray ain't giving up then there certainly isn't reason for us or anyone else......I'm sure Ray is doing some great mind tactics on Kasey and crew to get them believing in themselves

and we are with ya Ray!!!

I finally get a chance to post... yay for getting internet at the apartment!! :)

Any who... I still believe... it was hard after hearing Kasey's comments right after the wreck because he sounded so dejected and I don't wanna say like he's giving up... but I guess for lack of a better word his TONE was like that... (not saying Kasey is giving up cause we all know he isn't) and I KNOW that after a wreck it's all emotion and everything... but I did find my self saying "hmm Ok here is where we are" but espcially since almost everyone in the chase thus far has had issues in one race or another... I really think that Kasey still has a chance especially since we are headed to tracks that Kasey does well at.

I think I'll stick with the whole it aint over till the :checkered flys at homestead. Stranger things have happened in NASCAR.

Scrapbookgirl9 - September 28, 2006 01:58 PM (GMT)
its thursday, its almost race weekend..........I think we need to be getting even more excited

Helena, that was a great read. Somebody supercool must have mentioned it to you. :rasp

All kidding aside, I've been on this "let's email reporters" kick for the past week, basically telling those who've written him off that they're gonna eat their words, and thanking those who haven't (like Tom Bowles).

Oh hell yeah I still believe.
