Title: Kasey's & Ray's Post Race Quotes
Court - September 17, 2006 10:29 PM (GMT)
KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger) – Finished 16th, 8th in points, 110 behind leader Kevin Harvick
“We didn't qualify that well, but we worked our way into the top 10 in the first half of the race. Then, we had a tire going down and had to make an unscheduled pit stop under green. That put us two laps down, but we overcame that, got those laps back and we were running in the top 10 with 50 laps to go. On the last pit stop, we got blocked in and had to back up, so that cost us a couple of spots in track position. I still thought we could get a top 10, but the car was just too tight at the end and we couldn’t go anywhere.”
RAY EVERNHAM (Owner, CEO Evernham Motorsports)
“We didn't really have a great racecar today. We were a seventh, eight or ninth-place car. We had to keep trying different pit strategies. We would have probably finished there, but we got blocked in on that last pit stop. Once we lost track position, we had to take two tires and that killed us.”
Still a great comeback by Kasey & the Hyper Vipers! They'll keep their heads high, and go into Dover with something to aim for! Go get 'em, guys!!

I'm hoping this puts a fire under their ass' and give them the added umph to get things done next week. Good race today, but they need to bring their A game from here on out.

I think they brought their A game......Loudon wasn't a track I was expecting them to win at, it was a Top 10 track and they had a Top 10 car......just got screwed a bit at the end with pit strategy
But they battled all day and thats what counts.......giving it 110% each and every time and getting what you can. From there you just see how it shakes out
They need to hold their heads up high and head to Dover, I would figure he'll drive the same car at Dover that he had at Bristol and he got a 12th place finish at Bristol and I think he can do even better at Dover.
Go Kasey Go!

I really truly believe that Kasey can and will win this championship. This team and driver seem to do better when they have to fight for it. No other car has been able to fight so well from the back to the front in this chase like the 9 has. This Chrager is charging ahead and will raise some hell next week. :na

I too thought they brought their A game, sh*t just happens sometimes, and it just didn't STOP coming the whole race... that's not their fault. He did what he could.
As for the championship, it really doesn't matter to me if he wins it or not, I mean it would be great if he did. But I'm just glad he is in it... :cloud9 That is an honor on its own.

I didn't get to see the race today but from what they said it sounds like they tried their best through out the whole race and thats all that matters.

Sometimes "shit" happens in a race. Kasey and his crew did a helluva job! Sure, a top ten would have been wonderful, but even with a 16th place finish, Kasey still moved up in the standings. :checkered
