Scrapbookgirl9 - September 17, 2006 08:53 PM (GMT)
Well it wasn't the best day in the world, but this team battled and never gave up! They very well could have given up when the flat tire happened.....but they didn't and they got a 16th place finish
Anything can happen......we saw that today with Jimmie and Kyle Busch. Kasey and the 9 team just have to keep battling and they will get up there for that championship
Dedication. Drive. Determination. We believe!
Go to Dover and 100 starts for our boy! :na :clap

Ditto that, Christy!
They didn't give up today, and they brought that car home in one piece. They still have 9 more races to improve.. anything can happen.
Onto Dover!
Melissa - September 17, 2006 08:56 PM (GMT)
They have never given up and they never will. On to Dover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Scrapbookgirl9 - September 17, 2006 09:03 PM (GMT)
and 110 points in 9 races.......
we did 90 in 2, we def are gonna go after it so if anyone is worried just remember the adversity our boys have already faced this year and every time they've bounced back.....they can def keep climbing and head for that championship

i'm so excited about the chase! there are some great tracks coming up for kasey, i know he can do it! today wasn't the best, but it definitely wasn't bad either. he fought back and gained two spots in the chase. :na

We didn't lose a lot of points so that's good...
Just gotta keep it up and keep the spirits up... as long as they keep doing their job we'll be fine!
Good job Kasey and the 9 team

I love the never give up attitude, we know this team has that, just look how they got into the chase.
It could have been alot worse, but they made the best out of it, 110 points is nothing

Absolutely! I know the damage on the last pit stop messed up the handling for him, but Kasey did a great job holding on the way he did.

Main thing is they need to continue to be consistent. They need to qualify better at Dover than they did at Louden. That sets the mommentum for the race. They have what it takes to win this championship, now it's just a case of getting it done. :gokasey2

In a short, 300 mile race on one of the most difficult tracks to pass cars on the circuit, to overcome all of the problems that Kasey and the team overcame today is pretty amazing. 110 points is a fair amount, but it's easily possible to overcome in 9 races. Any of those problems could have resulted in a 30-something place finish, which would have put Kasey almost 200 points back.
Unfortunately, the championship will be decided based on who has the least bad luck rather than who runs the best. It's impossible to predict exactly what will happen, but I imagine that each race, 1 or 2 guys in the top ten will have problems. Today, those cars were the 5 and 48. Next week: who knows? The main thing is that Kasey just needs to perform. If he can run top five the next nine weeks with a few wins, then the points will take care of themselves regardless of what happens to the other guys in the top ten.

onward, and upward. now they know some areas they need to improve, and hopefully they will.

This race left me speechless today. I just don't know what that was all about. Anyway, Kasey did a great job trying to keep up, despite the day they had... just keep going and he'll be fine!
MaryLovesNASCAR - September 18, 2006 06:05 PM (GMT)
I'm so proud of Kasey and the team for never giving up! Keep fighting guys! :good

I applaud the whole team for never giving up. It was definitely a hard day, but it could have left them in a worse position than it did. They fought back for everything they could get. Good work guys!!!

8th - Kahne's charge back toward the front runs into more difficulty
By JIM UTTER
The Charlotte Observer
LOUDON, N.H. - First a flat tire then a mishap on pit road derailed Kasey Kahne’s charge through the field and forced him to play catch-up late in Sunday’s Sylvania 300.
He was forced to pit under green for a flat tire early in the race, fell as many as two laps down and got back on the lead lap, then he got blocked in on pit road and lost track position.
He finished 16th and is eighth in points, 110 behind leader Kevin Harvick.
“I still thought we could get a top 10, but the car was too tight at the end and we couldn’t go anywhere,” Kahne said.
Team owner Ray Evernham said Kahne’s team worked hard to overcome several difficulties.
“We didn’t really have a great race car today. We were a seventh-, eighth- or ninth-place car. We had to keep trying different pit strategies,” he said.
“We would have probably finished there, but we got blocked in on that last pit stop. Once we lost track position, we had to take two tires (on the last stop) and that killed us.”
