Sadler focused on more than his own performance

RICHMOND, Va. - Elliott Sadler was asked a simple question. How far would he go to help his Evernham Motorsports teammate Kasey Kahne make the Chase For The Nextel Cup?
That wasn't to imply any ill will or questionable wrangling within the team, but rather to see just what the newest Evernham driver could really do that would help Kahne move from 11th in the standings to a spot in the top 10 and the championship showdown in tonight's Chevy Rock and Roll 400 at Richmond International Raceway.
"What we've been doing is our team is trying different setups. You only get two hours worth of practice, so we're going to try some different stuff that might help my car or his car," Sadler said. "If it does that then they can transfer it over. Whatever we can do as teammates to try things and make sure when they get the green flag Saturday night. We've got the best possible setup we can in the car to get him in the Chase. Then we'll just let him and his team battle it out with everybody else."
Sadler says he wants to keep up with Kahne on the track throughout the race and admits that he had not only his own performance, but also Kahne's, on his mind a week ago.
"Last week at California when I was leading, I asked the guys, I knew Kasey was catching me and I asked how close he was to leading the most laps," he said. "That's what [teammate] Scott [Riggs] and I want to do. We want to see one of the Evernham cars in the Chase. I think that's important for our company, so we'll do what we can do to help him."

I really love Elliott & Scott as teammates. And I especially love to see them all working together.

oh man I just got around to reading this.......
awww I love ESad, I think he, Kasey and Scott are gonna be forces to be reckoned with next year. I think they will all be fighting for the championship!!!

It's nice to see a team @ EMS. Elliot has added new life to that organization. They are making great strides this year preparing for next year as well as doing what they need to do to help Kasey compete for the Cup. I still can't believe I'm saying Kasey competing for the Cup. It still hasn't sunk in yet.

Awwww! E Sad and Scott are awesome teammates for Kasey! Those 3 definitely make a great team, cant wait to see what happens in '07 :)

Wow...I love those guys.
Kalen and I met Scott at Indy, and just absolutely fell in love with him.
And I already loved El, but this just adds to it.

I am very glad that the team is doing so well working together. I have always liked Mr. Sadler and am very happy he is a part of EMS now. I was a happy camper when Scott Riggs joined the team too. We will now be a force to be reckoned with for the rest of the year...and watch out 2007! :drive
