Ben Roethlisberger Hurt In Motorcycle Crash

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was injured in a motorcycle crash Monday morning in Pittsburgh and taken to a hospital.

"He was alert and conscious," said Ernie Roman, shift commander for the Allegheny County emergency service.

Dave Lockett of the Steelers confirmed the accident but did not provide additional details.

Roethlisberger, 24, of Findlay, Ohio, has said in the past that he prefers not to wear a helmet when riding his motorcycle.

Calls to Roethlisberger's agent, Leigh Steinberg, were not immediately returned.

In only his second year in the NFL, Roethlisberger helped guide the Steelers to the Super Bowl championship last season.

Roethlisberger was also a star football player at Miami University.

He led the Steelers to a win over the Bengals in Cincinnati during the 2005 NFL playoffs, the game in which Carson Palmer's knee was injured.

He broke his jaw,nose,lost many teeth,and has many cuts on his face and back of his head..his knees are sprained

my neighbour's friend (who's like a sister to me) just lost her father (on fathers day of all days and police said that he wasnt wearing a helmet... so he's lucky to be alive
