Kahne on winner's circle

NASCAR officials say that Kasey Kahne's win in Monday's Golden Corral 500 earned him and team owner Ray Evernham a spot in the sport's Winner's Circle Program.

Kahne must enter, qualify and compete in the remaining 32 races on the schedule to hold the spot. There's one more spot open on the plan. The program, which starts each season with the top 10 winning driver's from the previous season, rewards teams through prize money posted by each track. A total of $130,000 is posted by each for the participants.


Each Winner's Circle driver, on behalf of his car owner, makes several appearances to help tracks publicize upcoming races throughout the course of a season.
