I was reading this in an article the other day, wasn't sure how accurate it was. It said that Ray had bought most of Ultra Motorsports' old trucks for starting out his truck team. Ultra Motorsports gave him their trucks because they're switching from Dodges to Fords and starting fresh in a way.

It also mentioned that Boston Reid would run for a new team, associated with Evernham Motorsports.

I read that over at the message board at his site. I would be so happy. I love Boston, I think he has some great potential, too bad Hendrick had to let him and all the other guys go. Can't wait until it's all official

This was an article posted on Casey's site about the 3 Hendrick development drivers looking for work:

Personally, I'd love to see Boston come over to Evernham...I think he's extremely talented and he got a pretty crappy deal at HMS, so it'd be great to get to see him with a good ride. :drive

It's official. Boston Reid will be driving for the new Woodard & Sharp Racing. Here's what Jayski has to say:

New Truck Series Team to Compete Full Time in 2006, Boston Reid: Rick and Cathy Woodard, along with Eddie Sharp, announced the formation of a new partnership, Woodard & Sharp Racing, with plans to compete full time in the Craftsman Truck Series next season. The partners have purchased a 25,000-square-foot shop in Denver, N.C., from which the team will field Dodge Ram trucks for Rookie of the Year candidate Boston Reid in all 25 truck series events in 2006. Patrick Donahue will fill the role of crew chief. The Woodard’s and Sharp met last year when both were involved in the ARCA Series. Rick and Cathy Woodard were co-owners of the #13 Boca Bay Racing entry in 2005. Sharp, a 20-year racing veteran, heads up Dodge’s ARCA driver development program. While Woodard & Sharp Racing is a new entity, the team is further demonstrating its commitment by surrounding itself with NASCAR veterans. In addition to the experience Sharp brings, the organization has entered into a technological partnership with Ray Evernham and Evernham Motorsports, who will serve as the team’s engine supplier. Boston Reid was named the 2002 USAC (United States Auto Club) Sprint Car Rookie of the Year. After joining Hendrick Motorsports’ driver development program, Reid competed in seven Busch Series races for Hendrick in 2005. Sponsorship opportunities with the team are available. Being a successful businessman, Woodard is confident Woodard & Sharp Racing can help potential sponsors reach their business objectives.(PR)(12-17-2005)

Maybe Ray will let Kasey race a few races? Kasey's awesome in a truck

It would make sense for Ray to put some veterans in a second truck to prevent what happened to him in the Busch Series during early 2005 from happening to him again. Starting a brand new team with a rookie driver is tough, and veterans can help improve the program a lot.

Come to think of it, Ray's got a great bunch of truck drivers in his roster right now.

Jeremy: 1 start, finished 6th
Bill: 2 starts, finished 2nd in his first truck race
Kasey: 2 starts, 2 wins
Scott: 43 starts, 5 wins, 15 top fives, 24 top tens

here is a more in depth article about Boston:

Reid to drive for new Woodard & Sharp Racing team in Truck SeriesThatsRacin.com ReportRick and Cathy Woodard, along with Eddie Sharp, announced the formation of a new partnership, Woodard & Sharp Racing, with plans to compete full time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series next season. The partners have purchased a 25,000-square-foot shop in Denver, N.C., from which the team will field Dodge Ram trucks for Rookie of the Year candidate Boston Reid in all 25 Truck Series events in 2006. Patrick Donahue, a 14-year NASCAR veteran, will fill the role of crew chief.
The Woodards and Sharp met last year when both were involved in the Automobile Racing Club of America series. Rick and Cathy Woodard were co-owners of the No. 13 Boca Bay Racing entry in 2005. Sharp, a 20-year racing veteran, heads up Dodge's ARCA driver development program.
"Cathy and I have always wanted to be involved in NASCAR," Woodard said. "When we got to know Eddie Sharp, we knew we had found the right guy to partner with. The most important thing in racing is to work with people who know what they're doing and who you can trust. Eddie's built a reputation as being both of those things.
"He's well-respected, and by working with him, we hope to let people know we're making a long-term commitment to building a competitive race team. We plan to be in this sport for a long time."
"I'm excited about the opportunity," said Sharp, who will also serve as the team's general manager. "The Woodards and I are taking our time and doing this the right way. We're building a solid team of quality people, and people will see we're in this for the long haul.
"We've got very realistic goals this first year. Our plan is to go to the track every week and earn the respect of our peers."
While Woodard & Sharp Racing is a new entity, the team is further demonstrating its commitment by surrounding itself with NASCAR veterans. In addition to the experience Sharp brings, the organization has entered into a technological partnership with Ray Evernham and Evernham Motorsports, who will serve as the team's engine supplier.
Donahue was part of Hendrick Motorsports' championship seasons with Evernham and driver Jeff Gordon in 1995, 1997 and 1998. He later worked with the Gordon/Evernham NASCAR Busch Series team and at Evernham Motorsports. Most recently, Donahue was the crew chief at Robby Gordon Motorsports.
The "new kid" in the equation is driver Boston Reid. Reid, a 23-year-old Indiana native, grew up racing sprint cars in his home state. In 2002, he was named the USAC Sprint Car Rookie of the Year. After joining Hendrick Motorsports' driver development program, Reid competed in seven Busch Series races for Hendrick in 2005.
"This is an awesome situation for me," Reid said. "Rick, Cathy and Eddie are great people, and they're putting together a first-class team. I'm honored that they've given me this chance, and I plan to make the most of it.
"Patrick (Donahue) and I have known each other for years, so we've already got a great relationship. I think we'll communicate really well right off the bat and have that driver-crew chief chemistry that's so important to being successful. Knowing there's some serious horsepower under the hood from Evernham Motorsports is a big confidence booster, too. I think we're going to surprise some people."
"Chemistry" is also the term Rick Woodard uses when he describes the different elements that have come together to form the team.
"The way everything's come together, it just all made sense," Woodard said. "With the great relationship Eddie has with Dodge, and then Patrick's relationship with Ray Evernham and Evernham Motorsports and their Dodge affiliation, it's just a great fit. Then you add in Patrick's relationship with Boston and our relationship with Eddie, and I think we've got a great chemistry and a great core to build from. I'm excited."
Sponsorship opportunities with the team are available. Being a successful businessman, Woodard is confident Woodard & Sharp Racing can help potential sponsors reach their business objectives.
"With the elements we have in place, I feel like we can give a sponsor a lot of exposure," Woodard said. "We've invested in the infrastructure by buying our own facility, we have people with a ton of NASCAR experience overseeing the operation, and we have a very well-spoken, marketable talent in Boston Reid. We'll do everything in our power to give our sponsors a healthy return on their investment."
