Title: Some Akins news......

UPDATE: One of the more intriguing stories in recent weeks occured when A.J. Foyt IV was spotted with Akins Motorsports at Dover. He will test at Memphis and Texas over the next few weeks. Foyt IV is the grandson of legendary racer A.J. Foyt and has spent the last couple of years driving mostly in the Infiniti Pro Series. “We’ve talked to Ray [Evernham] a little bit about some of the drivers he’s been watching and Anthony is one of them and he thinks he has a lot of the genes that come along with the name and a good knack [for] talent,” Akins owner Doug Stringer said Sept. 24. “We’re evaluating going into next year. We’re looking forward to testing him at Memphis and Texas.” Foyt IV said the opportunity to test for Akins and possibly run a Busch Series car for the team was too good to pass up. He already has tested an ARCA car for Evernham. (NASCAR Scene) (09-29-05)
Disappointed with its 21st position in the NASCAR Busch Series owner point standings, Akins Motorsports has announced that Gere Kennon will replace crew chief Jon Wolfe on the No. 38 Great Clips Dodge."Due to the ever changing level of competition in the Busch Series and the need for team chemistry, we are forced to do some restructuring, which comes with the release of crew chief Jon Wolfe and car chief Roger Johnson," said Akins Motorsports owner and general manager, Doug Stringer. That team defies logic. They complain about the resources needed for a rookie driver...then they go find Foyt. And they switch crew chiefs...again. I'm no expert on team chemistry, but chemistry can't "grow" if you're constantly changing crew chiefs.
As much as I really like Great Clips, I'm kinda glad to see Kasey leaving.

Atkins will never catch up to the other teams because they don't have money and the resources to build a good team. As shown over the years, it is not about the driver or the crew chief.

Um, how stupid are these people? Anthony hasn't been racing in Infiniti Pro since 2002 when he was the champ and only ran it one year. The past three years he's been in the IndyCar series.

Akins is stupid. Do they think they're going to get any better results with yet ANOTHER rookie driver????????

It seems like the company is falling apart, when they were bought by the other company earlier in the year and they made the 58 car it just started falling apart

Hmm yeah..it definately sounds like :bs after what they did to Tyler.
Like David said, I'm glad Kasey's leaving Great Clips...they've just got too much going on over there to keep any type of consistency in the company.

Plus, Kasey has like ZERO time when he races the Busch and Cup car. He literally has to run back and forth! Hopefully this well give him a little more free time lol.

Exactly! Although I think that I will miss Kasey in the Great Clips car, but I am only starting to like them and even watch them when Kasey is involved and then it is only about Kasey and there have been times when they have given him crappy cars.... But, I do have to say that I am glad that he is leaving because he is so better than that team is showing and after watching NBS 24/7 this week, they are just starting to get on my nerves a little bit! I was actually shocked to see Kasey driving the #38 car at Charlotte this weekend, but it is Kasey, so I can't help but cheer for him...
