Title: More Erin talk......full Busch next year....

Scrapbookgirl9 - August 28, 2005 10:27 PM (GMT)
UPDATE 2: Evernham said he is "reasonably confident" the team will field a full-time Busch car for Erin Crocker in 2006. A deal could be announced within the next couple of weeks, and Evernham said Crocker would race six Busch events this season. The 24-year-old probably would make her debut at Richmond or Dover. Crocker reportedly has drawn the interest of rival manufacturers, and Evernham said he must keep her in a ride to keep her under the terms of a developmental deal. "If I don't, and someone else comes and gives her a better ride, I'm going to tell her to go ahead and take it," he said. "She's a good kid and part of our family now and I want what's best for her. Right now, it looks like we're going to be ones to provide the best opportunity for her." (Richmond Times-Dispatch via Jayski) (08-28-05)

I just wish we knew a sponsor and for sure where her first Busch start is coming!

It's nice that Ray wants to give Erin the best opportunity, even if it's not with Evernham Motorsports. I wish we knew her Busch series debut and sponsors, too. It went from "probably Richmond" to "Richmond or Dover."

I have no idea whether she'll be in the 6 or the 79. With Kasey only having one Busch race left this year in the 38 (Lowe's,) I would think that he'd be running for EMS in a few Busch races. If not, he may only run in two of the final nine Busch races.

Here are my thoughts on the EMS schedule for the remainder of the year. This is just my guess, so don't think of this as the official schedule. With Kasey running California, Bill running Memphis, and A.J. Foyt IV probably running Texas, that only leaves six races left. They would probably be the six races that Erin is scheduled to drive.

1. California (6: Kasey Kahne)
2. Richmond (6: Erin Crocker)
3. Dover (6: Erin Crocker)
4. Kansas (6: Erin Crocker)
5. Lowe's (6: Erin Crocker) (79: Jeremy Mayfield)
6. Memphis (6: Erin Crocker)
7. Texas (6: A. J. Foyt IV)
8. Phoenix (6: Erin Crocker)
9. Homestead (6: Erin Crocker)

I hope we see the 79 run the majority of the final races. Running a second car would help EMS prepare for next year.
