We now have an image map on every page of Ocyras in the right menu. It's for the RATS (Rise Against Terrible Schools) web ring. That's all fine and dandy, but, not valid code. So, I spend a few minutes updating the code, and check the W3C validator. Still not valid. I change it so it is valid, and then it doesn't work at all.
So, I used good old Google to see if anybody else has this problem. It turns out that hundreds of people do... So, I read a few forum threads, and come to the conclusion that you can not make a (working) image map with valid (XHTML) code...
That is why I hate image maps.
But, if the browsers people use (this time, including Firefox) kept up better with the W3C recommendations, the image maps would work fine, AND we would have valid code...

Welcome to the Internets. May I take your coat?
Umm... it's summer here. I'm not wearing a coat.

Really? It's winter for me
Uhh... yeah, you keep telling yourself that, Vic.
