Hi

The Reaping

Blar blar off the back.

On the morning of 9 May 1984, Peri woke up. She was expecting to spend the day relaxing in Lanzarote and, that evening, leave her mother and stepfather to go travelling with some guys she'd only just met.

But things don't always go as expected as her friends and family discover when, four months later, she returns home having travelled further than anyone could have imagined.

Meanwhile her friend, Katherine Chambers, mourns her father and Peri finds herself meeting some other familiar faces.

By the way Hex should tell them who's on the cover :ph43r:

You mean the 6th Docotr and Peri?

It's a very good story, but what lifts it above that is the ending.Wait until you get there!

According to the Free CD that comes with it, these two stories are separate, only linked by a returning character.

I find it quite quite confusing that an older Doctor sees events in the past, whilst a younger Doctor sees the events of today. There was only a hint that he seemed to know one of the characters and had met her before.

A lot of interesting discussion about Peri's family and about her background. Joseph Lidster does these sorts of things very well, just like Master and his Saphire and Steel story.

Hi

Episode 1 done.

It is a long one the whole of one disc, different but ok.

It was a nice opening to hear action before Peri meets the Doctor

But Peri leaving with the Doctor had consequence, there no fatted calf waiting for her return.

her mother marriage ended and her best friend taken her play to a degree, all in the space of 4 months. :o

Anyway seeing in to Peri life is interesting and to me is a nod at how the new series is doing things, but that's ok.

While Peri dealing with the repercussions of her departure the Doctor looks in to the death of her best friends dad.

That's another thing why is she so up set over the death, It maybe my age as I am the oldest member of my family, but it appears to me to be a bit OTT, unless the person had taken the place of Peri real father in her affections.

Anyway back to the Doctor, looking in to the death he finds a most unusual weapon and gives us the second biggest clue as the villain of the peace, if only they did not give it away with the cover it would have been a happy find as it is some of the most logical writing I heard and the best bit so far.

The cliff-hanger was a little predictable but yes so far so good :D

Ep 2 calling.

Hi

All done an it was excellent quite a few twists and turns and a very dark ending, :ph43r:

But I not say much so as not to spoilt it, but there is a time element :ph43r: and a good link to the cybermen's past which is well worked. :ph43r:

And that's it

9/10

Looking forward to part 2 with Janet and Peter.
