Title: Huge plot hole in Bad Wolf/Parting

Something has just struck me about the closing story of the the new series Season 1.
The Dalek Emperor (and presumably a few retainers on the flagship) had escaped into the 'dark place', where they'd been having to use humans to grow new Daleks.
But... we know from classic series stories that the Daleks are capable of cloning (presumably it's the only way they can reproduce - at any rate, the concept of Dalek sex simply doesn't bear thinking about :o ). So why not just produce clones from existing Daleks? Far simpler and wouldn't have the nasty human side effects. After all, it's not as if they have any individuality. The same applies to Davros' machinations on Necros - since Daleks were originally developed from accelarated Kaled mutations, why not grow them from his own cells?

I obviously have too much time on my hands... :tumbleweed:
Incidentally, I re-watched Revelation for the first time in years last night (having just got the DVD) and note it is classified 'PG'. How many other PG dramas have graphic shots of people's hands being blown off (complete with fingers flying in all directions)???? :o

Maybe time travel effects the dna in a way that prevents normal cloneing. (With Dalek dna anyway)

Maybe it was a second attempt at developing a "Human Factor"
