Title: No More Shouts of "Go on Tim"
Description: Thank Goodness!

Tim Henman is out of Wimbledon
I know I shouldn't be dancing with glee, but I can't stand all the hype that goes with him.

I know exactl what you mean, but this has been going on as far back as I can remember with which ever British hopeful happened to enter the ring. Crumbs even Mark Cox for goodness sake.

Now that Tim has been beaten, the papers are bound to turn their attention to Andy Murray who, despite doing well last year, is still not on top form.

I look forward to the senior matches myself as they aren't taken too seriously and it's more enjoyable to watch. Circumnavigating the channels to watch one of them is irritating though

I agree. As a youngster I used to love the Marathon mens doubles matches that were played in good spirit back in the 60's and early 70's. I seem to remember one going on to about 30 games each back in the days before the tie break

I prefer matches to be relatively short because it can get incredibly boring watching a match for three hours. One other thing I dislike about the BBC's coverage is that they waste twenty minutes at the start of the programme doing interviews and studio chit-chat when there is a match being played!

I agree completely. I was happily watching the Ancic match then they cut away for 'two minutes' to show highlights from previous games of the day. Then they began chatting with each other, interviewing Henman (I think it was him, don't recall exactly). Instead of two minutes, it was about 10 minutes - maybe longer because I switched it off and went to a friend's house to play scrabble instead.
As for Henman, I don't like him. He's vastly overrated, only because we (Britain) are in need of some hope of victory.

Alright, I'm going to expose myself EEEK! ... to ridicule  and declare my support for Tim Henman. Admittedly the chances of him actually winning Wimbledon these days are about as good as me becoming the next Doctor (watch this space ;) ). I'm sorry, but being the first British men's singles player to get into the Wimbledon quarter-finals since 1973 - never mind the four semi-finals he reached - and having in his time beaten such greats as Hewitt, Roddick, Safin, Philipphoussis, Agassi and even Federer, and with 13 titles behind him, doth not a failure make.
As for Murray, he's improving all time (one round further this year, and he beat Roddick) and it will be a while before he peaks.

I don't think he's a total failure, but he is overrated every year.
Murray will improve though and he lost to an eventual finalist, so it's not all bad.
