that is not good for the fly-in,,,,darn

Mike - April 27, 2006 01:11 PM (GMT)
Well it should do one of two things: make things very interesting, or make things very boring.

alvinonline - April 27, 2006 02:24 PM (GMT)
Is a hurricane comeing?
Nobody told me.

Mike - April 27, 2006 02:35 PM (GMT)
weather.com is showing 23 as well. Maybe we should move the fly-in up to tomorrow, supposed to be perfect weather then. Typical.

jonkoppisch - April 27, 2006 03:15 PM (GMT)
Yep, I wont be bringing the stearman if it's any where close to that kind of wind!!!!

Osirus711 - April 27, 2006 05:29 PM (GMT)
well it sounds like i wontbe missing much out here in kansas!!

jonkoppisch - April 27, 2006 05:41 PM (GMT)
Wow!! They've actually raised it to 29MPH now... If you're in Kansas then 29 is a light wind day ;)

Mr.Incredible - April 28, 2006 03:15 PM (GMT)
Will we have the fly in anyway if the wind is so bad that no one flys? Is there any way to reschedule it?

David - April 28, 2006 03:20 PM (GMT)
that is alot of wind, might not be much fun with that going on, unless it stayed just one direction

Flying Dutchman - April 28, 2006 06:44 PM (GMT)
Too bad everyone so far is getting hysterical about the wind...

At this point it is probably too late to reschedule the event.
And that is up to the event coordinator.

Maybe you can fly your scale plane inverted through the limbo, since wind doesn't bother you and all. :P

jonkoppisch - April 28, 2006 08:49 PM (GMT)
I'm still planning on bringing the van and the stearman just in case they're wrong..... But I think I'll throw in the profile just in case they're right!!!!

I was a little skeptical of flying my scale planes in the high wind, but I will be glad to fly your plane inverted through the limbo if Frits declines the offer. I bet I can make that an exciting enough event to entertain the crowd.

What about those guys in the boat race tomorrow? Bet they will not be having fun.

alvinonline - April 29, 2006 10:58 AM (GMT)
OK, I am up now at this strange time of day before breakfast.

Fixing to head on over to Sam's Club to meet Andy and Mr. Anderson for grocery shopping.

Then on to field.

jonkoppisch - April 29, 2006 11:03 AM (GMT)
YEA!!! At least we'll have good food today ;)

Mike - April 30, 2006 04:57 PM (GMT)
Well so much for it getting much better today.

I'm putting the Raptor in the truck and going to Tillman's Corner to eat at the Waffle House. If it even looks like I can get one flight in, I'm going to the field. If anyone wants a weather update around 1 feel free to give me a call.

Weather sucked. Managed to get a couple flights worth of hovering in, but that was it. Mother nature is a ladymullet.

alvinonline - May 1, 2006 03:47 PM (GMT)
Sunday at field was kind of wet for sure.

I went down around 3:00 when the rain had stopped and Mike, Steve, and Frits were there.
Steve is really giving his chopper hades in full forward flight now and almost doing full down autos.
Frits' Hawks must be all down for fixing or something, but he was helping Mike with solving some little clicking sound in his Raptor.

I watched some ice hockey game on the TV and ate some fine beans, hot dogs, and ice cream.
Rain soon came back with a toad stringler.
We left.
