Title: OS FS 52 question
Mr.Incredible - January 13, 2006 10:43 PM (GMT)
This is probably a stupid question but I have read the entire book that came with my OS FS52s surpass engine and can't find anything that mentions the third fuel line fitting that comes out the bottom of the engine. I am working aon a new plane (Tiger Bipe ARF by thunder tiger) I am putting the OS four stroke in it and it is my first 4 stroke engine. Like all the 2 strokes I have worked with, it has 1 fuel line fitting on the muffler and one intake fitting for the carb, but it also has a third line on the bottom of the engine, can any one tell me what that is for?
Thanks for the help.
Steve

Steve,
I think that is a crankcase pressure vent (AKA) breather nipple..

Yep, crankcase vent.
Lets the piston go up and down without pulling a vacume or fighting pressure in bottom crankcase.
Also the oil that will blowby the piston into bottom crankcase will have a way to get out of engine. It will drip some oil while running, so put a piece of fuel tubeing on nipple and route it somewhere that the oil will not be a mess.

Thanks, I did like you said but it started to hurt a bit and left a purple mark.

Can she teach me the part about the oil blowing by the piston? That part really gets me confused!

You guys are too much.
What yall old married folks doing still up at this time of night?
Never mind, I got it figured.
Me?, I can't sleep, all excited about going to field later today and watching the guys work on the pit tin roof.
I can't get up there and walk those rafters like I used to, but I have a couple of field work projects I can work on.
Then later if not too cold, I want to further setup/adjust my TSK MyStar 46.

I'm still up because I worked through the night last night doing some upgrades and slept most of the day. Margo was up cause I was up.
I'm excited about taking the hawk up again, hope the wind is calmer than last week. The new plane didn't get done in time, but it's close and should make it's first flight Sunday or Monday (monday is a holiday so it's an extra day to fly this week end) Well gotta get up at 9:00 thanks to Andrew volunteering me, so Good night.
