For those of you who did not make the club meeting at Barnhill's
last night, you missed a good time.

Frits was presented with a very nice award from our AMA District
V.P. Tony Stillman, for his help and commitment to our hobby. I
do not remember the exact name of the award, but it had a very
nice frame and certificate.

Congratulations again Frits, and thanks again for everything you
do for our club.

Thanks also go out to our club officers, instructors, ground crew,
cooks, and others who give their time unselfishly for our club.

Congrats to Frits, it was well deserved honor for him. I know that for me coming in last year knowing little to nothing about the hobby that Frits' help and instructing was the only reason I was able to learn as much as I have about the hobby in such a short period, and none of it would have been as much fun without him (and Alvin and the rest of the gang).

When Tony AStillman gave me the award, I was totally caught off-guard, and that's why I didn't make a thank-you speech, even though some of you at the meeting demanded one...
I was — if you can believe that — speechless and at a loss for words! :yes:

It is great to be recognized for something I have always believed in these past 16 years, and that is, to promote the hobby to others who are waiting to join us in this great hobby.

You can selfishly fly your own stuff all the time and not care about anyone else (and I guess some people are perfectly fine with that) or you can share this hobby with others by being nice to them, by educating them and by showing them the ropes.
