Title: Holley Field Jet Fly-In
Mike - November 14, 2005 04:47 PM (GMT)
I know this is a two day event (Saturday and Sunday), but does anyone know if it's going to dissipate Sunday like our 3-D event did this past weekend? I'd like to get a chance to head over there but I just can't sacrifice my Saturday afternoon (Iron Bowl and all that jazz) so if I did go it'd just be for Sunday. I don't want to make the drive to realize everyone has packed up and left, so I thought I'd check here.

Hi Mike,
I'm not sure how Sunday but there should still be some good flying. On most of the events where people travel, they will usually show up for friday and saturday then leave early, noonish sunday. That way they have enough time to get back to their home, 6-7 hours away and get ready for the work week.... Some of the guys and I are going Saturday, not sure about the other days. I believe Andy said they were planning on Saturday and Sunday..

Mike, the flier says it's a 3-day event (Nov. 18, 19 and 20).
But like almost all 3-day fly-ins, Saturday is always the best (if the weather cooperates).

Ah, didn't realize it was a 3-day event also. There's always next year I suppose. Plus I'm sure there will be plenty of good pictures and video.

I went there SAt and the weather was great and so was the flying. Didn't realize that Bob Violet was letting guys fly on a buddy box.
I took my Ram 500 after setting it up and got a lot of gret help and answers, it's ready to run now, now looking for a trainer. we have a grass field over here in Panama City Fl.
I have a lot of flying experience( Top Gun 10 years with war birds) but now need to get this turbine in the air.
Hope it becomes an annual event like our Rally of the eagles were, Pierre said it might not be there any more because of the past 2 hurricanes.

He won't let just ANYBODY fly his jets on a buddy box!
I was standing by Raiko Potter when he flew that Bob Cat on the buddy box. I was taking pictures.
Raiko is an accomplished pattern pilot, sponsored by Futaba. As I said in my Pits Report about Raiko — last week's issue is about to be released — the BVM guys are about to set the hook!
But I'm sure that with your flying experience (and a showing of serious intent to buy a BVM jet!) you would qualify for a buddy box flight too. :D
