Title: Charing field box battery

grayowl - August 15, 2005 02:44 AM (GMT)
I have a field box with a Hobbico Deluxe Power Panel II. On the right side of the panel are a couple of banana sockets labeled "12V Starter" and sub-labeled 'charge field battery'. Question: If I change out the alligator clips on the AC wall charger to banana plugs, can I charge the field box battery through these sockets without removing the battery from the field box each time I need to charge it up?

Thanks for the help.

Sounds like that 12v starter conection on power panel goes direct to the 12v field battery, so it could also be used to charge the field battery.

But, wait for someone more familar with this particular field box to chime in with more knowledgeable advice.

Thats how I charge mine. Usualy put it somewhere just incase of the battery exploding (yes, i'm over cautious about it), so I don't worry to much. Plug it in the night before, next morning, whala, charged up, ready to go..
