Title: Buddy's New Coastie Jet
Description: Will it soon fly?
alvinonline - May 24, 2004 03:49 PM (GMT)
Buddy's jet has yet to make it's maiden flight.
Been grounded due to some little twiddley technical problem.
I am sure that it will soon get airborne.
Confidence is high.
Alvin

It might not fly but it will now roll. New tires and wheels with aluminum hubs installed. Now can taxi for many more miles.
I have a lot of Patience!!

Maybe some grease fittings in those new alumium wheels would help the over taxieing syndrome.

Alvin..I think that problem is fixed, Got three cans of 3 in 1 oil (one for each wheel). I included "oil wheels" in my pre-flite things to do.

Nothing wrong with being slow Buddy. Taking time with a nice plane like that is a good part of the enjoyment of this hobby. Flying ain't everything!!!!! Take your good old time with it......... :)

I have an idea! Why don't we get in the back of aa truck and hold the jet up and when we get up to about fifty miles an hour let the jet go.
Billyfrost - June 2, 2004 01:00 PM (GMT)
How about a big rubber band. It worked for Wil E Coyote. :)
Don Koval - June 2, 2004 06:56 PM (GMT)
The Road Runner could pull it faster
Justin P. - June 3, 2004 10:08 PM (GMT)
How about a rocket just to get it in the air.

Thanks, I will experiment with all suggestions and let y'all know which works the best. I kind'a like Justin's idea. We will try it first in Justin's truck, with him in the back, me driving and Billy on the hood with Xmtr and rubber band attached to nose gear in case justin's truck won't exceed 50MPH. Billy's rubber band should give it that extra umph needed to rotate. Don can take pictures to verify that all went well. :hyper: :hyper:

Sounds like a plan Buddy, I was shure we could help you out  Because when it comes to this Hi Tec stuff  We Are The Pros
I will bring along an extra "Rocket" just in case Justin's truck can't get up to speed :yickes:

I forgot to tell you that my truck can't get over 40 mph. Ha
Justin :D
JetBuddy - June 15, 2004 04:55 AM (GMT)
Justin,
Price of gas is down. We will put Super premium :banghead: in it vice regular unleaded stuff and it should reach 61 MPH. I know that is pushing the limits for a "Ford" but it just might do it. :hyper:

That will sure do the trick. :D
One time I messed up and pumped some of the higher priced super octane stuff in my Ranger's tank. :twocents: :twocents:
Picked up ol Justin to go to the toy airplane flying field.
He was amazed at how my truck would now go over a certain hill on our route without having to turn off the AC compressor or down shift as was usual.
I told him that a handfull of mothballs to a tank of gas would do the trick.
I forgot to tell him the truth after he got his own truck.
Wonder if he has cornered the market on mothballs.
Justin P. - June 15, 2004 11:31 AM (GMT)
I have an idea! :hyper: I could put 30% heli fuel in my truck the next time I fill up. That always seems to give the engines out at the field the extra umph. HUH?
:o
