Description: was working it out.

At Irvington Field today, I saw a young fellow (David was his name I think) really working out his new Raptor 30.
Learning collective management and doing loops & rolls.
Also doing some impressive nose-in stuff.
Looks like he is about ready for some full down autos. :P
He has been burning some fuel and it shows.

Hey thanks lester :D i am working on it. the 30 flys great after alvin helped me with a gyro problem (gyro tape needed a change) one day i hope to be a good as him. I have learned the more you fly the better it gets.

I did some full down autos with the 30 this morning. No splats but some close calls. My TH curve was set for -10 when coming down. No wonder it came down so fast. After some changes they worked much better (Still in one piece after some bumpy landings) Alvin makes them look so easy. Just go to learn to let it come down. I start adding pitch to early and have to bail out sometimes but that is what it is all about.

Great to hear that your autos are going OK.
My first one pancaked without even slowing down, best I remember.
Set your TH/Auto pitch curve to about negative four degrees on bottom end and all you can get for positive pitch on high end.
And have a linear curve between the two pitch ends.
Then as you add in pitch at end of auto, it will respond smoothly.
Then fine tune it to get the feel that is right for you.

Yep David, your autos are looking real good with both of your machines.
Pretty soon you will be dropping them in your back pocket.
