Title: New Li-ion batteries!!! 10 time capacity!!!

jonkoppisch - March 20, 2005 03:52 PM (GMT)
A rechargeable battery that can be fully charged in just 6 minutes, lasts 10 times as long as today's rechargeables and can provide bursts of electricity up to three times more powerful......

Here's the article covered in the New Scientist Mag...

New Li-ion batteries

That is neat, what they gonna think of next.

In a few years, with new battery and electric motor technology, glo engines might be a thing of the past.

Yes, that battery will be great  it might be on the market in two years, but it will be ten years befor we could afford to buy it.Don't give up them glo engines just yet

I think everyone realizes that electric is the wave of the future in RC. It will just take a little time to get the price down. Also, with all the glow engines already out there there will surely be a faithfully following for a long time. Kind of like VHS tapes there are obsolete but they will be around for a long time to come.

Also, it wouldnt be flying if you didnt come home smelling like glow fuel!!!

Ah yes, the smell of glow fuel in the eveing :D

By then, "smellivision" (for TV and movies) should be a reality. Surely there will be some related technology to make those electrics smell like nitro.

And by then sound systems should have shrunk to nano proportions to provide us with a realistic combustion engine sound while we fly... :D

If not, count me out...

Hay Frits, did you ever put a playing card in the spokes of your bicycle??? :)
