Nope, they are not interchangeable.
The dual conversion receiver has a soldered in second crystal called the intermediate crystal. It is used to further filter the incoming RF signal.
The actual crystal frequency will be off a little to compensate for the second crystal so it would not do in the single conversion receiver and the other way round also.
