Title: Sling's Picture corner
Description: latest pictures from Irvington...

Slingarian - November 29, 2004 02:33 AM (GMT)
I'm going to start posting pictures here that I've taken from the latest outings to the field.

I'll do my best to capture photos of everyones planes as best I can when I don't have a radio in my hand. I'll sort thru the masses and post at least one or two of every A/C shot that day. Bare in mind that photos posted often represent a fraction of what was taken. If you see a pic of your airplane, chances are there are many more, so contact me if you want the rest.

Sincerely

Slingarian

All pictures here are singles taken from sets of many.

The "boopy" prize goes to the one who can answer this question. (And the owner cannot respond).

Of all the A/C pictured, all went home is as good condition as when they arrived at the field, save one.....

Which one was it? And who's is it?

B) Just to let ya know how I do this... for those with inquiring minds. I take all the pics at the field. Load them onto my computer and then poor thru them to pick out a few of each I think would be best to post.

I then load each picture into Adobe Photoshop, and crop into it as need be to reduce the size. The native size these photos start out at is 3009x2000 pixels. So they're pretty big. Today for instance I took 218 pictures at the field, edited and croped into the 18 that were posted. Many more exist, if you see your plane, its guarenteed that I have more :) :) If you dont see your plane I might still have a shot of it, gimmie a hollar. :parachute:

Don Koval - December 13, 2004 04:40 AM (GMT)
Well gang it looks like we got some good pics today :) We try to get a shot of everyone, but sometimes you are just to high. If you see us with the camera come on down for a slow pass so we can get a good shot of your plane. :cloud9:

Hey Sling, the pictures all come through with a red X and when I click the image it shows nothing. Maybe trouble on my end.

Slingarian - January 31, 2005 03:25 AM (GMT)

Nice Job! I like the pics! :hyper:

David - January 31, 2005 04:43 AM (GMT)
I could not make it out today nice pics...i hate to ask but Tim what happened to the plane?

Tim McLeod - January 31, 2005 05:14 AM (GMT)
The thing was just cruising along and started to shake like hades. My son said he saw the aileron servo come out at that same time. All the hinge points are still good and tight so that was not the issue. If you look at that picture of the servo, there is nothing to hold or wedge the servo rails in to the wing except the balsa sheeting. I saw Jop Koppisch has posted something on RC Universe. We will see if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks Jon!!

Gee hun I leave you for one day and what happens??? Well.. I guess another day of ME rebuilding a plane. HA! At least you know where THIS ONE is. You handled yourself well as far as pictures can show. Be easy on him guys! Deena B)

Well...Now we know...Who really does the beautiful airplanes for Tim.

Yes Deena, he handled the tragedy very well.
We were proud of Tim's reaction to bad turn of events, though the crash recovery crew did stay quite a long time out at impact scene with heads bowed. :crying:

Tim McLeod - January 31, 2005 01:47 PM (GMT)
Yeah Alvin the crash recovery crew did a fine job with a moment of silence. Actually we were debating if we needed a body bag or what!! :hysterical:

Flying Dutchman - January 31, 2005 03:00 PM (GMT)
I left the field for about two hours and look what happened...
Let's see...

A midair incident with a Twist — Irvington Field's first father & son incident! So the Koval fleet is down to "only" nine aircraft now? :(

A Raven sheared off it's tail... Our Heli Guru Tal crashes Scott's heli (because of a mechanical problem, according to Scott). Yep, if you're going to crash something, crash someone else's aircraft, I have always said... :D

And NO, none of these crashes were by me! Could it really be true that other pilots also crash? I had suspected that for some time... :roflmao:

I hate I missed all the excitement! ;)

The production line is runing at full throttle. 40 size Tuskegee P-51 is almost ready, hope to have the new motor and auto glow lighter for it this week. Starting to build new 60 size P-51 to replace the one that hit me and put a hole in my wing on the twist. The Texan and the Twist will be back on line by the weekend, along with the Beaver

I was just up there minding my ownnnnn bidsiness :o when that P-51 came along and ran right into me :P

Thats my story :P And, I am stickin to it :cloud9: :P Pthptthhhhttwt

Billyfrost - February 1, 2005 02:03 PM (GMT)

We should use twists as combat planes...that would be interesting!
Who would win? :roflmao:
