The world famous Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Squadron will fire up their F/A-18 “ Hornets ” for their final shows of the 2004 season aboard Naval Air Station Pensacola's Sherman Field on November 12 th and 13 th .
In addition to the
Blue Angels, the shows will feature both military and civilian flight demonstrations beginning at 9:45 a.m. each day. Civilian performers will include the
Emerald Coast Sky Diving Team, Frank Ryder in his
ORECK XL Wolf Cyclone , Jan Collmer performing in his
Fina Extra 300L , Jimmy Franklin will fly the
Waco Jet Biplane , and the American Firebirds will perform in the
Extra 300S . Other civilian performers include Eric Beard in the
Russian Thunder , Jim Leroy Pitts in his
S-2 Bulldog Special , Dale Snodgrass flying the
F-86 Sabre Jet , and Kent Shockley will race down the runway in his
Shockwave Jet Truck.
Military performers will include an
F-18F Super Hornet ,
F-16 “Fighting Falcon ,” a Combat Search and Rescue demonstration featuring SH-60F helicopters, and F-18F pyrotechnic display, and a Wing fly-by featuring Training Air Wing SIX aircraft.
There will be more than 60 military and civilian static displays ranging from vintage 1930s to today's most technologically advanced aircraft.
Gates will open at 8 a.m. with the shows starting at 9:45 a.m. Both shows are open to the public. Admission and parking are free. Areas will be reserved for the physically challenged. Food, beverages and memorabilia will be available at numerous concession stands. Pets, coolers and smoking are not permitted.
