What an Airshow!!!!!

I've been to quite a few airshows but this one was GREAT!!!! It was probably a combination of things like we had the best seats in the house + the special events!! The airshow is free but we decided to break down and get the VIP tickets. WOW!!! Front row seating, no crowding, free food and drinks!!!!!

The show started with a fly by of 3 T6's and 3 Stearmans flying formation, nice. Then the acts started, a couple of demo's by the T6's, a couple of extras, a yak, and a Waco Biplane with a Turbine engine strapped on the bottom. If you've never seen this one it's a must. The Waco would go verticle and literally accelerate!!!! It was Awesome!!!!

Then there's the F16 Viper, wow! I've seen pictures of jets flying fast and having a 'halo' cloud around them. I actually saw the halo cloud around the f16!! It flashes by very quick, not a constant cloud. The announcer said the F16 hit 600 mph and I believe it. The jet came around the corner and put on the afterburner. It looked like it was launched out of a flingshot, wow!!! There was an F18 super hornet and the F18 from the Blue Angels that also was cruising around 600 mph, GREAT!!!!!

One of my favorites was the Bulldog Bipe/pitts ultimate. This is my first time seeing him fly. He really put on a show, even doing some minor 3d moves which is fantastic for a full scale plane. On takeoff he did sort of a wall maneuver and at altitude he performed a harrier, also at one point he went up into the clouds (low ceiling) and came back down torque rolling for some distance before falling out!!! At one point he was joined by the jet Waco and the 2 jet powered trucks. What a show, smoke flying everywhere and it looked like the 2 bipes were dogfighting, and they were on the deck!!!!! Literally around 5-10 ft off the ground!!!! If you look at some of the pics you can see that the vertical stabs from the Blue Angels Jets was blocking the view!!!! It was great.

Here's some pics. Wish I had more but the batteries died (should have charged those suckers!!!).

BTW: They announced that Discovery Wings Channel was there filming the airshow so we'll have to keep an eye out for when it's shown on TV!!!
