Thanks for the welcome! So far, so good! :D
Bare with me as I try to figure out how to use your animated emoticons, the quote feature (I didn't know how to select just a few words as a quote) and some other things not too intuitive and a bit quirkey... I'll soon figure them out and catch up...
Hey, looks like my smilies came to life this time. The first time, they didn't work, and I felt -> :banghead:
This could be fun!... But I have NO EXTRA TIME to chat, what with me having to do the club's newsletter (plus two others...) and the "From the Pits" report... :(
Let me just plunder around some more... ;)

Quote a few select words like this:

Just highlite and copy the words you want to quote --> then in the text field where you are typeing your reply --> paste in the selected words --> use the little "Quote" button just above the text field to put opening and closeing quote tags around quoted text.
Only thing I can figure on the smileys not working is if you did not have the "Enable emoticons?" function selected.
That function is down below the reply/post text field, just above the Post Icons.
It should be checked for emoticons to work by default, but take a look at that anyway with your next try for smileycons.
Yeah, plunder around some.
I don't think you can break forum.

I had enabled EVERYTHING! :crying:
Well, everything I want to do works in "preview" mode... <_<
I think that after PREVIEWing the POST, you must enable stuff again before ADDing REPLY...
(As I said: "quirky"...) :roflmao:
I got the quote thing under control now, I believe... ;)
I can TOO break it! I'll keep trying... :banghead:
Frits
PS What's with that fishhead?...

Frits...You forgot to login to forum before that last post.
When a forum guest makes a post/reply and uses a name already taken by a registered member, forum software will put the guest part after the name.
So we will know that the post was by a member who forgot to be logged in or an imposter. When you log-in, you can select for forum to remember you and it will drop a cookie on you so that on your next visit, will be auto logged in, unless you choose to log out or delete forum added cookies.
I hope/believe this to be the real fritsrc, (has to be...these problems seem somehow familar :banghead: ) so will continue.
About the Fishy Avatar you have.
When I pre-registered you in the forum, I chose that one from the stock ones available. You can keep that one or choose another from stock available in your Avatar setup found in your "My Controls" section (when logged in, will see that link near top of forum pages).
Also you can make your own Avatar and upload it in the Avatar setup area. If you make your own and upload, have the Avatar sized to 64 by 64 pixels and no larger than 25 kb in file size. Jpg, jpeg, or gif file types recomended.
And speed up your post count so we can get you up to at least a "J-3 Cub" member rank. :P Remember posts/replies while not logged in will not add to post count.
Any other help/advice you might need about forum workings, please do not hesitate to ask.
You did after all get a late start participating in forum. :newstuff:

Further helpfull information is presented on forum "help" page.

Hi Don,
You already got too many airplanes. ;)
And some nice ones to.
Frits is kind of POed that he has to start with a ultralite being just a Forum Cadet and all.
I might one day make another level of forum members with something better than an F-15 Eagle, but can't figure just yet what it would be and how many post required to get it. :hmm:
Don Koval - October 27, 2004 05:00 AM (GMT)
Hmmmmmm  How about 300 posts ;) And make it a AT-6 Texan
The Silver, Yellow, and Red one ;)

Now I just wonder how that 300 figure popped out of the air.
We already got a AT-6 Texan for a member level.
It has got to be something way meaner/powerfull than a F-15 and a name tuffer sounding than Forum Pro.
And has to do with flying and a airplane type.
Space Shuttle just will not do it.
Oh well...We have plenty time to figure it out.
Probably be years before anyone reaches the magic number.
Ever heard of type of Chess game where you see who can loose all their pieces the quickest.
We could do something like that...I could fix it so that a post will drop the post count and we race to see who gets back to zero first.
Of course some forum members are still stuck on zero.
Guess they are bashfull and think people can see them through their monitor.
I am glad for yall that I don't have a web cam. It would not be a sight for kids, women, or girlie men to see.
Scotch bottle, cig, coffee, and holey drawers. :yickes:
The only way to do computer stuff at midnight.
Billyfrost - October 27, 2004 12:48 PM (GMT)
How about... If you have over 300 posts you get a picture of a bottle of scotch and an un-employment check! ;)
Anthony - October 27, 2004 01:50 PM (GMT)

I like the new avatar you gave me, Alvin. You won't EVER need to change it to the Windows logo...
I hate that your forum's front door still shuts me out, but that's all right. I found a different way to get in this time!
The last time it was the back door. This time I found the side door ajar!...

This Anthony guy — I like him 'cause he writes funny.
What are "crash troles"? Now I know where "broken English" comes from!...
(It's okay, Anthony, I was a foreigner once and I know what that's all about...)
