Title: After Runway Repairs...

Flying Dutchman - March 18, 2009 04:09 PM (GMT)
About that letter of thanks to the County...
The way it's normally done, and should be done, is for the club's Secretary to draft the letter, and it should be signed by the club President.

We can try to have all club members sign it as suggested, but that seems impossible to me, and not necessary... (Get 90 people to sign it? Good luck!)

In the meantime...
Last Friday I left a telephone message with my county contact, Richard Crist, thanking him and all those involved with the repairs.

I called him again this morning and I asked him about the yellow center line. It was never discussed before and he (nor I) thought about it turning black... Richard said he would check with their Traffic Department and see if they can deliver a can of yellow paint for us... I thanked him for that...

As far as the letter is concerned, I have an e-mail out to our club president and the other club officers to deal with that.

I really don't care how it's done... If it's made. I'll sign it in Thanks for what's been done!

My, aren't we getting impatient now...?
No, the letter is not made, but it will be soon, I hope... The wheels are turning.
And we'll do it the right way...

There were plenty of complaints about the cracks for some quite some time, and no one wanted to run with it....
It's all taken care of now, except for that yellow line — wich mostly the north-enders want.
And I am taking care of that, too.

And I will get that letter done, too... If not, I'll do it myself...

Until then, try to be patient... <_<
Pretend that line is there until it's yellow again...

Don't know where you got the 'impatient' from... I don't care if someone writes one, or if you email the Pres and he drafts one or if you get Alvin to put one together. IF/When it gets done, I'll be more than happy to put my John Henry on the line to thank them for filling up the crack and sealing the monster 1 more time :P

The letter is being drafted by the club Secretary...
He'll have it ready by the next meeting, he says.

But I guess you won't be there to sign it...
(It may have to be amended or changed anyway, and then it'll be another month...) <_<

I'm glad I already thanked the parties involved by telephone... :)

Soooooooooooo..... Do WE (as a club) WANT a yellow line? Does it make any difference??? Does anyone really care? I offered to help in any way needed.
Have we (as a club) thanked the county enough??? Should we phone them again ??, or do we await a letter???, write individiual letters???, send a plaque???, or does it matter at this point? Just waiting for some direction. I don't know who to call, or who to write, but, i'm sure there are plenty of folks ready to do whatever needs to be done.

The letter is being taken care of, Benhere...
A signature by the President will suffice. He'll sign for all of us...

If you read what I wrote earlier in this thread, I mentioned that the County will provide the yellow center line paint.
When the paint shows up, "the club" (who?) will paint the line.

Richard said he would check with their Traffic Department and see if they can deliver a can of yellow paint for us... You mean  IF I read THAT part?IF i read it right, it said IF. I was just offering to help. So, IF the county delivers the paint, i'll be glad to do the painting. Or, If they can supply it, but, can't deliver it, i don't mind picking it up; but, IF they don't, won't,  or can't, do we (as a club)  still want it painted? IF we do, Lemme know.  (Just tryin to help)
