Title: ACMA Flying
Mustangman - October 14, 2004 11:34 PM (GMT)
To all ACMA members:
At the October 12 ACMA club meeting, I mentioned that County Hazardous
Waste Manager Bill Melton has given ACMA permission to resume flying on
SATURDAYS and SUNDAYS ONLY.
However, hurricane debris will continue to be deposited 7 days a week,
12
hours per day, from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM. A steady stream of heavy dump
trucks will enter and leave the field daily.
So therefore:
• ACMA's two porta-potties will be moved from the asphalt access road onto
the parking lot. (The Corps of Engineers have brought in their own two
toilets.
DO NOT use theirs!)
• There will be NO PARKING along the asphalt access road by club members or
visitors.
• Absolutely no children will be allowed on the access road or past the
point
where the South spectator chain link fence ends.
• Helicopters will have to flown on the East side of the runway only and can
no longer be hovered or flown on or near the South taxi lane area near the
dump truck inspection station. Any hovering will have to be done at the
North
taxi lane only.
• I have removed our ACMA club lock from the gate. Corps or County
personnel
will lock and unlock the gate each day.
I want to stress that if there is any complaint by the Corps or the
County about club members' inappropriate actions - i. e. flying on the West
side of
the runway, straying near the truck inspection station, or flying anywhere
close to the debris pile - all flying will stop immediately.

Naw...Not Sunday.
We members of Saturdays work party had a hades of a good feed Saturday.
We had BBQed pork chops, steak, sausages, potato salad, chips, garlic bread, carrot cake, and plenty good ice cream.
The roof on field structures all fixed back now.

We got some more work done on field today.
Back to pre-Ivan condition now I think.
A good many fellows got in some flying this weekend.
I know they had been suffering from RC withdrawal.
We finished off the left-overs from Saturday's feast.
I ate a MRE government issue meal in a pouch.
It was almost delicous.
Contents:
- Chili & Noodles
- Big cookie of some kind
- Melba Toast
- Cheese Wizz Spread
- Coco Drink Mix
- Tootsie Rolls
- Chicklets
- Coffee
- Assorted other seasonings and supplies
- Matches & Toilet Paper
- Heating Pad Thing for warming food
Three or four of those meals a day and you could just about make it.

And Oh Yea.
The five new to us office chairs donated by Rob Harrison for use at Irvington Field made it through Ivan just fine.
They sure do sit good.
Except for rolling down hill on that positive water drainage slope in the pavillion slab.
I made a little wedge to stick under a wheel on the chair and it kept me right up front on slab so I could watch all the flying. :bigplane:
Thanks Rob...I will have to dance at your next wedding.
