I am......I want to test fly my Phencepost before combat next weekend...

CRASH 22 - January 12, 2009 01:12 AM (GMT)
:parachute: I had a GREAT day at the field. We do have some Hardcore flyers. "IT AN'T COLD."

:sturthepot: We had a nice little cookout.

:boxers: COMBAT is next Sunday.
Andrew test flew his Phence post. The flight went well. His little LA .25 was singing. ( He needs a Webra .32 )

I brought a couple of NEW combat wings to test out. One had a TWO stick spar and tapered wings. The other had a 3 stick spar and square wing.

I straped the Square wing on my .40 HOR ( hades On Rails )
Frits was gone, :dontknow: Alvin was drunk, so Andrew was railroaded into being the test pilot. :pilot:

I gave it a perfect hand launch, and it took off like a Bat out of hades. It was SCREAMING. :woohoo:
( And nothing fell off.)

Andrew handle it like a PRO. Even when in a hard turn, the wing would warp and all kind of crazy things would happen.

All in All it flew pretty good.

The three stick spar is barely enough.

:spin: Good thing we didn't start with the two stick wing.

I found MY NEW Combat plane.

BenHere - January 12, 2009 01:23 AM (GMT)
Allll it needs is a FEW minor Changes?????

Too bad some folks did not hang around long enough to get some of the not burned chicken, since I was not cooking anymore. Russell and Robert did kitchen duty real fine.

Yep, Andrew did real well, one of best flights I have seen yet on one of Robert's inventions, way to go.

I considered coming out to the field on Sunday to visit and drop off the Hot Dog roller/cooker, but feared that no one would be there with the weather being less than amicable. In the past 3 weeks I've driven out to the field 5 times, and only on 2 of them was anyone there, (one of the 2 was New years eve). Guess my timing just sucks...

I'm still working on getting the house in shape and trying to settle in. I hope to be out flying in force soon.

Frits was gone,

How quickly he forgets... <_<

I thought that was me flying the DOOMED! Funtana wing twice.
Wildly, but successfully, I might add, until the engine quit both times.

 BUT You were GONE when it came time to test the FAST one.

Were YA Scared :yickes: Don't be. Andrew did just fine.

CRASH 22 - January 12, 2009 06:47 PM (GMT)
:bigplane: I've added a stick to stiffen up the spar.

I.m ready to try again

:twocents: Tony, YOU need a combat plane. Don't you have an engine??

I have some old Kenny M. type combat planes you could have. I'm also in the process of designing some High Performance H.O.R.'s ( hades On Rails )

 I can hook you up!

:bigplane: I'm going to the field about 1:30 pm. I 'll stop by tire mart on my way.

I have several fuse's & wings you can pick from.

BenHere - January 14, 2009 02:50 AM (GMT)
Now this sounds interesting.. :yickes: Tony flying one of Roberts planes.... hmmmm.. better let Fritz check it out... just in case Robert needs to make a few MINOR adjustments.. It might be a bit tail heavy... but, you can always turn it around and fly it backwards.. :woohoo: just makes it a bit nose heavy..

alvinonline - January 15, 2009 08:51 PM (GMT)
I saw Tony's new "Kenny Special" coro-combat plane by way of Robert (CRASH 22).

With that lineage, ought not be any excuses for not combating to victory. :sturthepot:

CRASH 22 - January 16, 2009 01:28 AM (GMT)
:parachute: I got one left . Do you want it??

Thanks Robert, but I am going to stay out of combat and give some of you young guys a chance for glory.

I messed up my share of nice planes in combat years past.
I will just sit back and enjoy the carnage and excitement.user posted imageuser posted imageuser posted image

:spin: Come on Alvin, You need a Combat plane!! It's just not the same with out you.

alvinonline - January 16, 2009 06:34 AM (GMT)
I have come to the conclusion that if it flies well enough to combat for five minutes, it is too nice for combat. :P

Osirus711 - January 16, 2009 02:13 PM (GMT)
Wow...that's setting your standards pretty low! :P
