Title: New to Electric's need help
Description: Wiring my new Graupner motor

Moe - September 30, 2004 02:36 PM (GMT)
Hey everyone,

I am pretty new to the hobby of electric RC planes. I have built the Hobby Lobby
Super Miss, and am enjoying flying it.

I just purchased the Graupner Spirit of St. Louis, however i have no clue how to wire (solder) the Graupner 400 motor to the speed controller. As you all know, the lack of instruction in the motors and ARF's is pretty bad. Being new, I just don't know.
Is there a forum or a site that could help by showing a diagram or something?

Just not sure what goes where.

Thanks for anything you could do.

Moe

Hi Moe,

There will be a red dot or + sign on the motor near the positive terminal.

Solder the positive wire from the ESC to it.
Solder the negative wire from ESC to the other terminal.

If you do not want the motor and ESC to be directly hooked together (like if you would want to move the ESC from plane to plane) put a "Deans Ultra" plug inline between motor and ESC.

Solder the "male" part of plug to motor with some extra wire you purchase or can cut off wires on ESC.
The "female" part of plug gets soldered to wires comeing from ESC.
Pay close attention to keeping the polarity correct when soldering wires to plug.
Make sure positive from ESC still goes to positive terminal on motor when all plugged up.

In case you need tips on soldering, here is a link.

Hope helped some.
