:spin: These people have the BEST bottles, hands down. :boxers: There easy to keep clean and they have a plastic needle that seals and opens the bottle each time you use it.

I absolutely despise the Mercury bottles. Even with the needle they manage to glue shut, and it's impossible to keep a good tip on them since they're already such a blunt tip by design in the first place. If you need to get some medium or thick CA in a tight spot, the best bet is to hold the bottle well above it and just try to aim the drip.
I don't like their glue either. Even with the medium, invest in accelerator if you don't want to hold the parts together for 2 minutes.
Sore subject. :D

One trick I find that helps to keep the tip free, is to tap the bottom of the bottle down on a hard surfice a couple of times right after you use it

i hate that sh-t to got 2 bottle's both glue'd shut. and it ain't got now shelf life eather, two weeks on the boat ,come home ,buy some new. :banghead:

I use it and it does fine. The medium and thin dries just as fast as the other stuff. As far as the blunt tip, yeah, it was annoying at first. I got the tip extenders they make for those particular bottle and that fixed the blunt tip. Now, before you start complaining about how expensive the tips are; let me say this. They are reusable!! You can soak them in acetone and voila they are good to use again. The other tips would melt if you put them in acetone, but these are made of teflon. I have never had this brand harden up on me before, so I don't know happened to yours Elton.
Now after saying all this, I will tell that the mercury adhesives have a lifetime warranty on them. If you do have a problem then call them up and tell them your problem. They will ask you to send them the bad bottle and they will send you a new bottle. As far as I know, that is how it is supposed to work with mercury adhesives.

I have had a bottle of the thin mercury for about 2 months with the lid only partially on, and still works like the day I bought it. I do not like the tips though, but Justin's tips would apparently fix that issue. :twocents:

I started this because I use a LOT of ca glue, not just on planes but the model boats I build.I always have problems with the tips no matter what bottle I use.
I read a lot of forums and I read that you can use VASOLINE around the bottle tip.I haven't tried that yet but I will give it a try.
Thanks everyone.

Cannonfodder - June 25, 2008 05:02 PM (GMT)
OK now I have to ask this question. Vasoline around the tip. Is that to make it not stick or just make it slide into those tight places easier? :yickes: :toiletpaper:
Flying Dutchman - June 25, 2008 06:40 PM (GMT)
You could use that Kentucky Jelly, if you don't want something greasy, and prefer something water-soluble... :P
rescue911j1 - June 25, 2008 10:26 PM (GMT)
That depends on what taste you have.Cherry , strawberry.I prefer the non sticky. :woohoo:
Flying Dutchman - June 25, 2008 10:36 PM (GMT)
I have GOOD taste!...
Johnny_J - June 25, 2008 11:52 PM (GMT)
I use the ZAP. Everytime I use it I wipe the tip with a paper towel very fast and I get to use the whole bottle. Sometimes when I get close to the bottom I have to cut the tip a little but thats all.
I think it's just another way of doing what Don suggested.
Sounds a lot easier your way Don!

Hey Johnny,
Ever get the paper towel caught in zipper after it got glued/stuck to your tip?
Yep when you bottom it out, have to trim it down to size or just keep on going and wear it down to a nub.. :yickes: :roflmao:

alvinonline - June 26, 2008 02:57 AM (GMT)
I think most probably in the style of Autobiographical Fables and some Erotic Fantasy with a touch of Southern Gothic.
Such as the screen play for the film "O Brother, Where Art Thou?", one of my favs.

I have heard all of his life's stories, many, many times, ad nauseam.
Aafter you take out all the embellishments, falsehoods, inaccuracies, exaggerations, untruths and cok-and-bull, you are left with... with... well, with a biography that would put most of us to sleep!

In the past I've had a couple of bottles harden up well before I had used 1/4 of the bottle..I stumbled up on a mehod that so far has worked well to keep the glue usable..I throw away the cap and use a t-pin to seal the bottle..This keeps the hole open and prevents the glue from turning to a solid block..I'v had some that has lasted well over a year...
