Title: Gulf Coast Balloon Festival
Description: Foley, AL June 13-15

A friend of mine told me about the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Foley this weekend. She wanted me to go and get some photos and I thought that would be something fun to attend. After going online for more info, I noticed that on Friday there will be an R/C Airplane demo/display from 3:30-6:00. I wonder who's going?

There will a bunch of us at the festival. They had a Heli fly in schedule at Summerdale tomorrow and are going to try to move it to the balloon festival flying area. If you can come over bring something to fly.

I'm confused again. I'm reading jonkoppisch's post at 7:28 in the morning on Saturday, June 14. So, Jon, you went earlier this morning??? Isn't that way too early for the balloon thing? :o

Or did you go to the Heli Fly-in in Summerdale and there was no one there? :o
Maybe because they all went to the balloon thing in Foley...
Which is supposed to start at 9:00 AM, if I read TJ's post correctly... :o

Well, I think I'll just stick with St. Elmo. That is THIS Saturday, right? TODAY?

Well, I know the time shown on the posts is probably Invisionfree.com's local time, where ever that is.

But if you were referring to yesterday ... they showed a bunch of balloons in Foley on Channel 15 news yesterday afternoon...
Perhaps that was NOT LIVE??? :o

I did go yesterday (Friday) and got there about 4:30. There weren't any balloons that I could see, but the weather hadn't been great prior to my arrival. There was a good folk band playing though, "Cool Change", so I steayed and listened to them until about 6:00 and then I left. As I was leaving I heard an announcement that they would be inflateing some balloons that evening. I debated staying longer, but alas, did not.

And actually the Balloon Festival began at 0600 today (Saturday).

We didn't get there until around 2 or so.. No balloons to be seen. We left when the band was doing there sound check. I guess we just missed you TJ... I used to go to a balloon festival in Winchester Virginia. We also flew RC there. It was a pretty big festival, bands, RC, paragliders, wine testing :^), etc...

Frits,
Why don't you go to your "My Controls" then "Board Settings" then adjust "Time Zone" to your local time and you will then be less confused, hopefully, but then maybe not, but at least forum post times will be correct for your viewing.

Try (GMT - 6:00 hours) and check "Is daylight savings time in effect?" then click on "Change My Account Options".

  :banghead:

Well, I knew it was possible, I just never cared or was never confused about the time before...

So I did what you suggested anyway, to make you feel better.

But now my time is stuck on beer:30... :o

Nothin' wrong with that. My clocks seem to get stuck there quite often. ;)
