Title: New Vending Machines
Description: at Irvington Field.

Well, they not working out so hot.
As of today, the snack machine took two dollars off me and no snack.
I almost took a hammer to it.
The drink machine will dispense you only a Mountain Dew no matter which button you push.
The new machine might be no better than old coke one and costs fifteen cents more for the honor.
Anyways, the frig is now cleaned out good and ready for new food supply.
Charcoal grill all cleaned.
And Russell's sink contraption moved out of way.
Appears that Jeff and/or someone has put out fertilizer and fire ant control agent.
And Monday, I found the gate locked with the AL Power Co lock left out of the loop once again.
Really pitiful.

And I'm sure you notified the drink machine vendor of the problem right?
(The Mountain Dew button is stuck in the "vend" position, it appears to me... But then, what do I know about vending machines...)

And how is this different from what I said?

They have not worked right since day one installed.
What a rip off.

So who was in charge of this "improvement" to the field vending machine situation?
Mustangman - April 23, 2008 08:48 PM (GMT)
I will have all of them removed.
jonkoppisch - April 23, 2008 08:50 PM (GMT)
Careful what you wish for.....
Mustangman - April 23, 2008 09:00 PM (GMT)
unplug ALL of them and put tape over the money slots and I will call All of them and have them removed.

How many machines do we have now?
I wonder how much an old retired coke machine costs to buy outright. We could stock it ourselves and the club keeps the profits. :D

Well, I here your wish came true. :crying:

The two new machines are gone.
I watched as they loaded them up and hauled them off.
The original one was still there. It should be gone soon.

One time it was working on quarters, but no change back, I did get a good Honey Bun snack.
jonkoppisch - April 25, 2008 02:24 AM (GMT)
Whew.. This will be interesting...

I agree...

What's interesting about it?
ALL machines will be gone soon... One more to go! I used it today to get a Nestle's Tea out of it...
But it sure is in a terrible spot now, as the kitchen staff will realize tomorrow when they show up to cook for our ACMA Warbird & Scale Fly-in, which kicks off at 8:00 in the morning...
Today I planted six directional signs at the road intersections, and hung the ACMA banner on the fence at Half Mile Rd.
Tomorrow I will bring the registration forms and three large bags of ice.
While I have you here — any volunteers to do ANYTHING tomorrow? The trash cans need to be emptied. I was going to, but... After I picked up three bags of trash along the access road and the front entrance, I found the dumpster FULL! A broken plastic chair that I put in there two weekends ago tells me that the dumpster has not been emptied in at least two weeks... I told Tony, who was going to call Andy, so... Couldn't get Andy, so I'll call Allen who has the dumpster people's telephone number... :o
I heard that Rob will donate an airplane kit to be raffled off to registered pilots.
The potties appear to be clean and smell like cinamon on Christmas morning. :D
We know who the food buyers and cooks are...
Who will do the registration desk?
Who will collect the food money?
Who will do the raffle?
Who will bring the PA system?
alvinonline - April 25, 2008 07:53 PM (GMT)
I am pretty sure that the dumpster is serviced on a monthly basis.
Russell did a good job of collecting food money last time if Charlie does not show or can't do it full time.
The Pavilion/Tables & Chairs/Kitchen got cleaned up good Friday and the Fire Place thing moved out of the way.
I am fixing to go by store and buy some industrial strength fly spray bomber cans and some squeeze bottle mayo that Sams Club very seldom has for some reason.

Yes, he did!
But I have heard NO commitments from Russell for this fly-in.
The food buying and cooking is taken care of. (No surprise, we all know who's always responsible for that... :P )
It's always good to actually hear people say: "Yes, I'll be there to do that!" And as the assistant to the Grand Coordinator (Tony), I just have not heard from some people...
But not to worry, it'll all get done!
Flying Dutchman - April 25, 2008 10:50 PM (GMT)
And it all WILL be done!
I got commitments!
