Well I finally got the Staudacher 300 GS in the air today. :bigplane: Yup...you were right Frits it's a handful for a beginner like myself, but
FUN to fly!! ;) I'm learning to respect those who fly a plane for the first time before it's been trimmed out. Things can happen in a hurry!! For those that remember, this is one of the planes that John Kenna had up for sale a few months back. The YS 91AC engine would act up and I just didn't feel comfortable putting it in the air until I felt I could trust it. (It makes small air bubbles in fuel line between the regulator and the carburetor when the engine idles). I've tuned it the best I can, and the engine's still not perfect....but it runs. In fact it didn't deadstick any today. I was sure happy about that!
I'm hoping that maybe I could enlist the help of some of y'all who know YS engines to take a look at it.... again?? :hmm:
