Title: APRIL COMBAT SUNDAY
Description: Are You Ready ??

Robert S. - April 15, 2008 05:02 PM (GMT)
I have my "Fear this" :yickes: H.O.R. ( hades On Rails) Ready.

I crashed { Fritzed} Superman Sunday. So He has been repaired and ready for Back-up Duty.

Last I heard lloyderc's combat plane was being used for "field goal" practice.

I may be letting the cat out of the bag, but the "Farmer/Reed" combat team has a modified ride out of the pit garage with a new motor. If it passes the restrictor plate rule it will be a bad A$$ machine. That's right, forgot, we have no such rules.

I wonder if a streamer will stay on the 172 from Atlanta back to the field. :D

Flying Dutchman - April 16, 2008 12:24 AM (GMT)
Don't keep me in suspense... <_<

Thank you Justin.

Flying Dutchman - April 16, 2008 01:20 PM (GMT)
Thanks! Not all of us are aircraft experts.

Isn't it great to speak clearly so everyone understands? :D

 GREAT pictures.

alvinonline - April 21, 2008 06:30 AM (GMT)
Andrew Smith won the April Combat Event. :boxers:

Mike did not make it, hope nothing happened to the 172.

The Farmer/Reed combat team is probably dissolved.

The 172 made it back just fine. We were too ready to be home by the time we got back into southern Alabama so we just headed straight for Ocean Springs. I need to start flying something faster. B)

What happened to the team? I thought there were no crashes?

Flying Dutchman - April 21, 2008 01:56 PM (GMT)
Yeah, about "that team"...
Well, my sources tell me that one half of that team did not appear to have his heart in the event yesterday, stumbling around, ripping the the streamer off a couple of times by stepping on it, poking the running prop into the ground, and otherwise sabotaging the "team" effort...
(I would post a picture, but ImageShack is not cooperating...)

jonkoppisch - April 21, 2008 02:11 PM (GMT)
I heard that he was to busy groping the females at the field.... :o

 Females????? I thought that was your wife.

jonkoppisch - April 21, 2008 04:01 PM (GMT)
As in plural...

Mr.Incredible - April 21, 2008 07:06 PM (GMT)
If that happens again, call me. I will stand in as the designated groper so Alvin can focus on the combat. :D Anything to help out.

Flying Dutchman - April 21, 2008 11:28 PM (GMT)
Here's "The Team"...
Well, it's dissolved now, I take it...

I flew Lee's P-51 Mustang and dinged it up during landing...

There were several large Mustangs at the field.
Lots of ground crew action at the North End... Not much flying, though.
Al actually DID fly his. The off-color one... :D

Jon got Henry's P-47 Thunderbolt in the air, and scared Al into landing his Mustang early by inching a bit too close for Al's comfort... :yickes:

Russell got his F-22 Raptor trainer airborne! Well, Rob did.

And then Russell flew it too:

Paladine28 did about a dozen takeoffs this Sunday. He did great!
Landings are next...

There was some night-flying going on after dark. It was exciting and very eventful! Lots of action! Best not to talk about it in detail here... :embarrassed:

:o the only thing alvin was into was the icecream :sturthepot:

Mike - April 22, 2008 02:32 AM (GMT)
Define "dinged up." :o

Flying Dutchman - April 22, 2008 11:38 AM (GMT)
A gust of... ummm... breeze... made the Mustang rise at the last moment, causing it to stall and fall.

Cracked both gear blocks.
:embarrassed:

Mike - April 22, 2008 12:21 PM (GMT)
WIND?!?! WHAT WIND?!??!? ;)

:embarrassed:

Frits are you saying the wind did it????? Hmm now what do you always say about the wind???

Flying Dutchman - April 22, 2008 08:46 PM (GMT)
I NEVER said there was WIND!... There is NO WIND at the South End!

There was a "slight breeze", however, and that did me in...

jonkoppisch - April 22, 2008 08:48 PM (GMT)
It must have been from all of that 'hot air' coming from the south end ;)

Flying Dutchman - April 22, 2008 08:49 PM (GMT)
The only hot air that ever blows at the South End is when Alvin comes around after eating his indescribable concoctions...

Crash Kit - April 23, 2008 01:44 AM (GMT)
That was a nice landing it was just 3 feet too high :paci:

Flying Dutchman - April 23, 2008 07:26 PM (GMT)
Thanks for the compliment, Crash Kit... <_<
