Title: last Sunday Flying...

Flying Dutchman - March 17, 2008 05:48 PM (GMT)
Robert had another new aircraft ready for me to test... :yickes:
Had loooong dowels sticking from the wing tips... Robert said that's to better grab more streamers in combat...
COMBAT?...

Then he casually mentioned that he would add "foamy noodles"... :yickes: :yickes:

Oh, it flew pretty well, on the second flight, after we cut the noodles in half... But during combat Andrew wiped us out after a brief flight when he snagged our streamer... The dowels broke off in the crash, but the plane survived and Robert flew it the remaining two rounds.

Andy and Justin flew their Cessna 310 twin.

Alvin was the center of attention again. He flew his Titan heli very smoothly...

Robert tried flying his Stunt Kite Toad plane again, with bad results. I tried it too after getting a lot of grief from the North End crowd. (I flew it successfully two weeks ago. But since then Robert has “improved” it…)

I didn't fare any better.

Did it appear tail-heavy to you? Well, that word IS NOT in Robert's vocabulary.
Of course the North End jeered and heckled... Oh yeah, after all, they are experts at flying... ummm... Cubs... <_<

Russell has been taxiing his Super Decathlon without the wing attached...

I talked him into practicing flying the wing only this time. Russell complied...
You should have seen his body English!

 The Toad kite was bent up from a crash at Spad's over Texas. :bigplane:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JO9d8Av2qVs I should have known it wasn't going to fly with a bent fuse. :yickes:

:o Did anyone get a video of the 168" version trying to fly?? :bigplane: I thought I saw Johnny J. taking pictures.

Flying Dutchman - March 19, 2008 03:22 AM (GMT)

I terminated the first flight because I knew I could not make the turn without stalling it and crashing. Too much drag with those long noodles!

I'm working on posting the second flight with the half noodles...
(If YouTube would only cooperate...) <_<
