Title: Last Thursday Flying...

Flying Dutchman - February 29, 2008 05:39 PM (GMT)
I decided to go to the field on Thursday...
And wouldn't you know it, there was one of my students, BenHere, sneaking in several flights all by himself! He doesn't need me any more, I guess... <_<

Jeff L. has Tim's Wild Hare Extra now...

The Extra's flight was bumpy in the gusty winds...

He finally made a nice landing that went a bit long. But Jeff missed the culvert and the PVC pipes though, and the plane didn't flip over. Here's the video...

Avistar, I need no model fuel... My students provide the PLANE AND THE FUEL...

So, unless you are prepared to send me a pre-paid round-trip airplane ticket to Arizona, and put me up for two weeks in a nice hotel (five-star rating...), pay for my rental car (mid-size...), meals (first-rate restaurant, not fast-food...) and good entertainment (not a porn movie in the hotel room...), let's not even talk about it...

Other than that I will NEVER charge you for any lessons.

And if you crash your plane while getting instructions, I trust you'll get a replacement as soon as possible so as to not lose too much time learning to fly...

I will put in writing that I WILL NOT guarantee that you will solo after two weeks...
And you will agree in writing that if you tick me off, I'll return to Mobile, Alabama, on the next available flight... Fair enough?...

Avistar 2 - March 1, 2008 05:10 AM (GMT)
:o What !
I wish I could.
Sigh :( I guess I have to buy a real flight Simaltor,
:banghead: Gezz you guys must really hate me.
I have not crash yet, just pancake landings but that very lucky if you think about it..
It's not easy trying to learn to fly when your from a club.
Don't you guys feel sorry for me?

Flying Dutchman - March 1, 2008 02:04 PM (GMT)
No! Why should we feel sorry?

We "are from a club", whatever that means, and all learned to fly... :D

BenHere - March 1, 2008 04:56 PM (GMT)
By the Way..... Talked to a guy from the county (friday evening). He said the clearing that is being done (North side of half mile road) is for a PIPELINE that will be going all way to Arkansas. I walked over there to look for any missing planes, :bigplane: but, got a little swampy (knee high)..then started getting dark. No planes in sight. Fun walking tho. Will try again later.

Flying Dutchman - March 1, 2008 05:07 PM (GMT)
Hey,BenHere, if you run across a Quickie 500 type plane, bright yellow, sissy pink and sky blue, with a Webra .32 engine on it, and with MY NAME on one of the ailerons and my AMA number on the other, it's MINE!

:D

Avistar 2 - March 2, 2008 03:19 AM (GMT)
Well flying dutchman if I Lived near your club and asked nicely for help and I have everything ready I bet you won't teach me,

Of course I would... I don't discriminate against anyone...

But I think Alvin would LOVE to spend time with you, Avistar 2...
He is always bringing you up in conversation... :D

Avistar 2 - March 2, 2008 06:02 PM (GMT)

I went for the Gusto one time and I caught it.

Now she is sitting over on the couch eating all my chips and dips.
Here Bertha Here, come gnaw on this. :roflmao:

Doctor told me to loose 300 pounds of ugly fat and I tried to divorce Bertha, but did not work. :(

On the AMA event stuff.
Our Mobile club hosted the big AMA district five jamboree flyin last two or three years.
Very big going on.
In fact your friend Dutchman was the all powerful AMA D V Jamboree event director last year and forum member Don K. was director year before.
We all big AMA folks here. We go many AMA things all the time, well known fact. :parachute:

First of all, I DO NOT drink beer while training... <_<

I may take pictures of other planes and people while I train, however, but only when I get bored...

Avistar 2 - March 7, 2008 08:15 PM (GMT)
Have you ever yelled or littery screamed at a student pilot ?

Flying Dutchman - March 7, 2008 08:51 PM (GMT)
No, of course not! <_< That'd really be crude, rude, inconsiderate and unmannerly...
I am way too civilized and refined for that...

I'm sure they'd like to yell at ME for constantly yakking in their ear, correcting their mistakes, showing them where they did wrong, and otherwise making them feel like a beginner...

When they show me that I can trust them I stop talking to them altogether and usually pay no more attention to them.

Instead I watch what's going on elsewhere at the field, such as in the pits. How else do you think I get all that detailed and accurate information for the Pits Report?

Avistar 2 - March 7, 2008 09:57 PM (GMT)
 The learning does not stop Flying dutchman,
some students take some time to hang of RC flying.

BenHere - March 8, 2008 02:55 AM (GMT)
Avistar, Believe me.. Dutchman is always professional in everything he does. I can't imagine him ever yelling at a student, (unless he yells LOOK OUT!! STOP!!! DUCK!!!) We all learn at different speeds. Some people are able to practice once a month, and some every day. I suppose its that way on everything, not just RC; but, my experience has always been that Dutchman is always there to correct you if you're wrong, and encourage you when you need it. Can't ask for more than that from an instructor.

Flying Dutchman - March 9, 2008 01:19 AM (GMT)
Gosh, BenHere...

I'm blushing now... :embarrassed:

Avistar 2 - March 9, 2008 01:47 AM (GMT)
<_< Benhere don't give Flying Dutchman a swell up head, his ego is large enough
as it is already, Alvin has to calm him down with chewing gum and Voka.

Flying Dutchman - March 9, 2008 02:03 AM (GMT)
I don't chew gum and I don't drink Voka, whatever that is... <_<

Avistar 2 - March 9, 2008 02:07 AM (GMT)
