Title: Project Super Sonic
Description: Project Super Sonic

Well, since this plane only cost me $75, I have decided to spruce it up by adding retracts.
Can someone recommend a CHEAP retract setup?
Does anyone know how to convert from a 2 blade prop to a 3 blade prop?
My engine runs good on an 11x7 two blade prop, so what size 3 blade prop should I try? I'm having to do this because this plane has a nose gear setup and a 2 bladed prop will be to long, and it will also sound good.

Sounds like a cool project Todd. Check out this link for your prop questions:
http://www.zingerpropeller.com/_2_blade_.htmIt doesn't list your 11x7, but the standard conversion is to drop an inch of diameter and keep the pitch the same, so that would mean a 10x7.
As far as retracts, I have an old set of tricycle B&D air retracts that I'll give you if you want try them, but they may be too big to squeeze in the Sonic. They were on a 40 size Great Planes Patriot when I was using them. That said, you can get a set of Hobbico mechanicals for about 20 bucks if you want to go that route.

Not much room in the Sonic for a air tank?

It's going to be a struggle for space whether it's an air tank and a micro servo to open the air valve or mechanical retracts and two standard size servos to operate them.

Thanks Paladine, that prop and spinner should work fine. I will be there this weekend.
Mike, thanks for the info. I will try the air retracts and if that doesn't fit then I will try the mechanical type.
Maybe, I will modify or build and external compartment or chamber for the air tank, like on the belly.
Mike, How big is the air tank?
I just want to use that 5th channel!

 Trust me, I know the feeling!
Not sure of the air tank size, I'll check on that. In fact, I'll just try to remember to bring the whole setup out with me this weekend. Key word there is try. ;)
