Title: I need your help
lrogers - February 7, 2008 01:23 AM (GMT)
Okay ladies and gentlemen, I need your help. My Sea King project will be licking into high gear shortly and I need help deciding on the paint scheme. I've narrowed the choice down to Marine One and a Navy SAR bird out of Key West. Here's your chance, so vote early and vote often!

After analyzing and collation of data, Marine One is the one.

I served in the Marine Corps so I vote (Marine One)...

I gotta go with the Navy SAR design. Looks like I'm on the losing side, but Marine One is just too common for my taste.
I also want to thank you for those links, that Navy SAR picture is now my desktop wallpaper. :D

This is getting VERY interesting. I sent this "request" to two other groups as well and the results are:
this group, Marine One is favored
family/friends, evenly divided between the two
my wood workers forum Navy SAR is top choice.
If this keeps up, I may have to turn to my dart board and a blind fold. :hyper:

Well look at it this way...around the time you get it all done and ready to fly you might have to pretend it's toting Hillary Clinton around.
Does that settle it yet? :D

One side navy, the other side marine

How about something all-together different from the current choices?
(Navy SAR ;) )

Hey!!!
I like that color scheme too!

Hey TJ,
I've got pictures of that Sea King as well as another "oil patch" bird all done in yellow/white. The problem is the fuselage in the commercial birds is stretched, both in front of and behind the main mast. I don't want to go through the work of stretching mine.
As of this moment, the Navy SAR has a 38-to-23 lead.

Even though I work for Era and I have been a Helo Flight Engineer in the past, I'm more of a Fixed Wing guy :bigplane: . I didn't realise that ours were streched versions of the military birds. I learn something new every day ;) .

It's now offical, the color scheme will be the Navy SAR. This one received better than 2-to-1 number of votes.
Thanks for your help/comments. You'll be seeing proress photos over the next few months and a test flight at the filed!
