Title: It's coming!...

Flying Dutchman - January 18, 2008 05:38 PM (GMT)
Many have e-mailed and called me asking where last week's Pits Report is.
All I can say is I finished it on Monday evening and sent it to Alvin on Tuesday. He opened that e-mail message on Wednesday at 1:58 EST.

I know Alvin is feverishly working on it.
Or perhaps he's feverishly working on the new computer he claims he just got...

So be patient! It's a-coming... :D

alvinonline - January 19, 2008 05:54 AM (GMT)
Surprise Surprise, the new field report is now online.

Yes, I got a new computer and it is working just fine.

TJR - January 19, 2008 02:37 PM (GMT)
Well, I've checked it three times this morning, and it's still the same one from last week. <_<

Flying Dutchman - January 19, 2008 03:06 PM (GMT)
TJR, I think you need to replace, or trash, or update, or refresh your supply of cookies...

If that doesn't work, perhaps you have to empty, add to, reset, or jingle your cache... :o

(Apples don't have cookies — I don't think... If they do, I don't know where the jar is kept... At least I never had to worry about them...)

Suggestion:

Follow this link to actual Pits Reports page. If you don't see new report.
Pits Report Page - Click Here

Hit F5 key.

If that does not work, check browser settings to see how often it is set to check for new pages.

It may not be an up-to-date model, however... :o

He's pretty secretive about it. At least to me... <_<

4star40 - January 19, 2008 08:55 PM (GMT)
Well Alvin what is the new computer?

alvinonline - January 19, 2008 09:03 PM (GMT)
Very up to date model fresh out of the box bought last Tuesday.

I just had XP OS installed and not the latest Vista OS. Saved me eighty dollars also.
Vista still too new for me. I have to move up in steps from 98 SE that I had.
Did jump over some OSs but I figured out XP ok.

It's probably because it's not a Mac and he's afraid he'll never hear the end of it if he admits it.

By the way, the F5 trick worked. ;) It must have something to do with these computers at work. I think I had to do that the last time I was here. <_<

I was now able to upgrade my Firefox browser to Mozilla Firefox 2.0 and it is really cool.
Nice built in spell checker that can auto correct spelling as I type in this forum or any text field elsewhere.
Super nice ad blocker and pop up blocker.
Been using Firefox for several years for surfing and it does not allow spyware to be installed and is very stable.
Highly recommended, yawl need to try. Small download and easy install and free.
Really giving MS IE browser a run for it's money.
Check it out.

What is FireFox and why would I want it?

alvinonline - January 20, 2008 01:37 AM (GMT)
David,
Download and install the AdBlock Plus extension for FireFox and you can kill those peskie website ads.
Or you select a filter subscription when Adblock Plus starts up the first time, then even this simple task will usually be unnecessary: the filter subscription will block most advertisements fully automatically.

TJR,
I don't think that you would like it, stay away from it. :P

Tony,
Unlike you, I don't have money to throw away on things like clams, cucumbers, willows, fancy painted chopper canopies, and things for the "wow" factor and price bragging for those easily impressed.
I have to watch my :twocents: :twocents: and wear holey socks and look for value in things I buy.
:boxers: :hysterical: :roflmao: :hysterical:

Thanks Don, but you help out enough with those free Russian cigs on occasion.
