Title: 46BB problems!
Description: 46BB fuel delivery prblems.
Johnny_J - December 12, 2007 09:56 PM (GMT)
I have a 46BB motor with a fuel delivery problem.
At about 1/2 throttle it runs good at about 4 turns out on the needle. This is a new needle assm. after you run it up it dies as if you turned off a switch.
Is the needle too small? I want to be sure before I order one.
How would I figure out for sure!

Four turns out sounds a bit much. Can you lean it out some?

Could you tell us the brand? That would help...
Is the fuel relatively new?
What type plug are you using? That would help...
Is it the needle valve that came with the engine? If so, it'll be just right, I'm sure of it! :D
It will just have to be adjusted properly.
Four turns out sounds too much to me too. :o

Sounds like the low end is in to far, Turn the low end needle out a lot, real rich!!
Start and set the high end needle for best topend, and then try and idle as best you can then set the low end needle to just a little on the rich side.

Sounds good! I'll try that.
The needle valve isn't the one that came with it. The plug is new.
The fuel is new.
The turns are too much. Thats why I mentioned it.
It's a tower Hobbies brand, but I don't know who makes it.

That did it. The low end was not an air adjustment but a mechanical fuel adjustment. I havn't worked with this type of carb before.
