The Pitts Special is the world's leading high performance aerobatic aircraft. In the USA the Pitts Special has won more unlimited-class aerobatic contests than any other aircraft type. Some pilots think about flying airplanes almost every day. They make imaginary flights while driving their car or even at their desk. And sometimes imagining can seem better than actually flying. But never in a Pitts! It's an experience that's almost impossible to describe. You think "turn" and you turn. You think "roll" and you roll. Turn it over and it flies just as if it were right side up. Even after several hundred hours, each flight is an exhilarating, awesome experience. So if anyone ever asks you to go for a ride, be prepared to be infected with an incurable passion. Because there is nothing, absolutely nothing that flies like a Pitts.

In 1970, a manufacturing operation known as Pitts Aerobatics was started in Afton, Wyoming, using the plant facilities and experienced manufacturing personnel who previously built the Call Air A-5 and A-9 agricultural aircraft. The first Pitts Special S-2A was produced in Afton in 1971. During the 1970's, most Pitts Special versions were Type-Certified under the requirements of FAR Part 23 in the Acrobatic Category. Since then, the Pitts Special S-2B has received Type-Certification and has become the most popular version of the Pitts Special line in current production.

Aviat Inc. acquired the Type Certificates and rights to the Pitts Special aircraft in March 1991 in Afton, Wyoming. Subsequently those rights were purchased by Aviat Aircraft Inc. in December of 1995. Marketing, Engineering, Fabrication, Assembly, and Flight Testing operations for the Pitts Special line are all conducted at the Afton, Wyoming location. Aircraft rigging is meticulously adjusted during flight testing to ensure that every aircraft is aerodynamically optimized for maximum performance in aerobatic competition. The current array of Pitts Special models represents the latest design refinement of this legendary family of aerobatic aircraft.

Hurry up Mr. Guru

I am doing the best I can with what I have to work with.
A 10 year old P2 233.
Frits sent me a humongus six week catch up report and it is crashing my computer when I try to download it.
I am going to format my hard drive and reinstall OS and software.
That should really help as has been several years since last I did that.
All that is a full day job getting new system going, software installed and data backup reloaded.
Things may go smooth and may not.
Will hurry along as fast as can.
Wish me luck.

Don Koval - December 13, 2007 07:31 AM (GMT)
OOOOOOO crashing computer and reformat :o I hate it when that happens :yickes:

Good Luck

Well, the report itself was no more humongous than any flying event report in the past. I included only 74 images this time (ummm, perhaps 24 more than a normal weekend...) <_<

And last night, while enjoying Mexican food, (and while he was enjoying my company), he mentioned — with his best bud Tony as a witness — that he was already having problems with his system.

I'm sure it's just a delay tactic...
Anyway, I'm definitely NOT to blame...

jonkoppisch - December 13, 2007 05:48 PM (GMT)
Maybe you should give him one of your old Macs....

Yep, my 8-year old iMac (on the left) may even be faster than what Alvin's got!

I know lots of "gurus" with the latest PCs and Power Macs and stuff that can't even spell "dynamic HTML" or do web pages or even pdf documents. haha :computerboy:

When it comes to English spelling and grammar, you cannot EVER beat this (legal!) alien, and you know it! :P

And, yes, I can do PDF documents, but when I wanted to, you didn't want to, remember? You told me you don't like to change, remember?...

I never called myself a guru. I don't qualify, and I know THAT!...

No, I DO NOT do Web pages, you do. And yours is GREAT! We all know THAT!

Now get that Pits Report up... Three of my devoted fans are waiting...

I am just as smart as I need to be for any given task. Any more than that is a waste of nerve cells and I got plenty.

And that PDF thing, that excuse does not wash any more. I have OKed PDF stuff long long ago in front of many witnesses. I will even take the Pits Reports in PDF form. I could get them online real quick.

When one formats hard drive, does it go "POP" and smoke supposed to come out?
I am now at the public libary on Grelot useing one of their free public computers to check in on forum.
I will see if I can use it tomorrow for uploading Pits Report.

From what I saw today, you are going to be entirely too busy Friday to be reading any Pits Report at work.

Don't forget, save the rest of those Cream Cheese Cup Cakes for me and a little hot coffee would be nice.
