Here's the bad news! :banghead:
I decided to go fly today. It lasted about 30 seconds when the plane did something weird and my reaction was weirder! :yickes:
I was inverted about 25 feet above the runway and it nose dived drastically and wiggled at the same time. When I reacted it was too late! Into the dirt next to the runway and made a nice little pile! :crying:
Upon investigation I found everything together but the fuel tank. It was about 25 feet away with a melted spot and a gash in it! <_<
I then remembered that one of the fuel tank mount pieces that the rubberbands was attached to to hold the tank on, had previously broken and I had CA'd it back together. I think this broke loose from the vibrations and the pressure of the rubberbands pulling on it! :unsure:
The tank went forward into the prop where it struck it several times before catching it and slinging it away from the plane! This would explain it acting the way it did! :hmm:
I will be building another. Even though it was a direct hit the engine mount, landing gear(which I just upgraded! <_< ), and the electronics survived. :banana:
