And just to think...I have two John Jones originals. :)

Looks like you have a real gift there. I drew a picture of Donald Duck once but then my pencil came up missing.

Yeah, Johnny, I used to be artsy too...
Here are a couple of examples of my pencil sketches... (Miss Emily & Miss Mila K.)

You should register with the site.

alvinonline - November 9, 2007 08:03 PM (GMT)
Hey Frits, can you do a still life of me?

I can do them to. I am pretty good, don't you think? :P :D  But they not for sale, could not part with any of my works of art, besides they get more valuable after i am gone, don't they?
My most emotional piece, just drips with the feelings Tony has for his aquarium creatures.

I may have to try it. I already sold enough prints to completely pay for the printing cost (almost $4,000) and then some, but I don't push them, so I still have hundreds of those lithographs.
I did limited editions of 1,000 each of the Stella III, a Bayou La Batre boat, and the My Four Queens, a Pascagoula boat.

I did about 40 oil paintings, and I sold all but a couple and they are not for sale.

Still life is defined as a painting or drawing done of inanimate objects, like these:

Since your lips never stop moving, you don't qualify!

But then, I think you are best classified with the animals (no offense meant...)
Not sure where you fit... Here?

Lord......Please don't let me be a wedge between these two.

Since Alvin thinks his time here on earth is somewhat limited, he's brought me and my family some beautiful gifts each time he comes over to remember him by (not that we'll ever forget him) the last of which we'd all like to forget...a silent but deadly in our study. Anyway Frits, my wife was really admiring your paintings and wanted to know which one you'll bring over next time you come to our house to remember you by?

:hysterical: :roflmao: :hysterical:

Yep, when you hit sixty years old, one knows that a lot more is behind you than in front, so one wants folks to have something to remember one by.
My latest present in Tony's computer room will be ever lasting. :fullmoon:

Way to work it Tony, you know that if I give you anything, Frenchie will double it up. :yickes:

Johnny_J - November 10, 2007 05:10 AM (GMT)
Yea Fritz!
Prints is the way to go!
Although my frames are original the drawings I sell have all been prints.(Sorry Alvin I thought you knew) :hmm:
I havn't sold any originals yet, except for 1 custom drawing I did when I first started all this (someones house), and most likely will never.
Art is a hard business but this site that I'm in now, makes it a lot easier!
They do all the leg work and all you do is cash the checks! :spin:
I just started this yesterday and I'm already getting comments on my work!
Even the photo work! :embarrassed:

Crash Kit - November 11, 2007 03:54 AM (GMT)

Fritz, Those are very nice paintings and drawings. You mentioned you still have some litho's left? Are they for sell?

jday - November 20, 2007 02:49 AM (GMT)
Very nice Fritz. My wife and I like old ships. Got any?

Yes, both the Stella III and the My Four Queens are still available in a signed & numbered limited edition 4-color lithograph, in a series of 1,000.

Only those two, and they are obviously shrimp boats. The first was from Bayou La Batre, the other was a Pascaboula boat. (I tracked the owners of both boats down and found out that the Stella III burned and sank, and the My Four Queens also sank...)

I have done several oil paintings of sailing vessels such as a couple of sail boats, a clipper ship and a schooner, but those originals all sold.

I only have two original oils hanging and several unfinished works. (Just like my planes, come to think of it...)
