Russell flying Tigers - October 31, 2007 12:09 AM (GMT)
Well, I finally did it. It was just a matter of time. I knew it was going to happen. I was so carefull. I dreaded this day from coming. Hoped that I would not do something so dumb. Thought I could be carefull -so nothing would happen. But I was wrong. OOPS,OOPS,OOPS-It happened. What I dreaded has happened. No matter how carefull I was, it still happened. I knowI should have been more carefull but it just happened. I know maybe it was big foot???? A Iranian conspiricy??? Maybe it overherd me order another plane???? I'm so embarrest to say what took place. Maybe I should not say anything but OOPS????? :banghead: :fuming: :embarrassed:

I was told that to expect a new trainee to crash his plane and to except that day will present itself. But NOBODY EVER WARNED ME about what just took place this evening at 6:15 pm. :embarrassed:

Lets see...At 6:15 this afternoon.... :hmm:

I know...You were sneaking out to test fly your Cub with the new night flying landing lights system.

The lights went out and you were the first one to hit the new high rise power pole at north end of field. :yickes:

Russell flying Tigers - October 31, 2007 01:13 AM (GMT)
No, This has happened in my house. OH what pain that I am in. I made a call to 911 for help so I have to keep this short.

Crash Kit - October 31, 2007 02:22 AM (GMT)
I think he ran over the new cub in his driveway. No I take that back that sounds like something that Frits would do. :fullmoon:

Flying Dutchman - October 31, 2007 12:15 PM (GMT)
What did you do, Russell?

Did you accidentally:
Cut yourself with an Exacto 11 blade? :yickes:
Dril into your finger? :yickes:
Dremmel one of your fingers off? :yickes:
Glue your tallywhacker to your Cub...? :yickes: :yickes: :yickes:

C'mon, you can tell us, no matter how horrible it is...

Tommorrow we'll laugh about it... :hysterical:

I can hear it now...Russell "Fritzed" his tallywhacker. ;) :P

4star40 - October 31, 2007 03:47 PM (GMT)
I bet he glued himself to "himself"

Russell flying Tigers - October 31, 2007 05:17 PM (GMT)
Last evening I went to use the microwave and I had to step over my cub and my trainer plane to get to the microwave. On the way back I miscalcalated my step and I stepped on my trainer plane. I broke into the rudder and cracked it. How could have done something so dump. As many times I have flown my plane I never done so much damage to it by flying. Its fixable. My poor plane. OOPS.

Russell, it's just your trainer plane!... <_<

I always tell my students to NEVER step over their planes. I don't even like for them to straddle the plane with their legs during startup. I have seen too many "incidents" over the years...

Get over it, Russell! You have that troublesome Cub, the Raptor psuedo "jet", and the Pulse (you DID get that one from Jade, didn't you?) So now you have FOUR planes that you can't fly. :D

Soon your numbers will catch up with ME. I have at least four airplanes and seven helicopters I can't fly... (I thought I'd bring that up before anyone else does...)

Now Now Frits,
Nobody would say anything like that  Would They???? B)

That can't be any worse then me  I have a bunch of planes that can fly  But I don't fly

Russell flying Tigers - October 31, 2007 11:39 PM (GMT)
Thanks for the moral support. I guess were all guilty of collecting planes. Now the helicoptors I have none. Someone could be nice and sell me one so I could train on.????????????? The trainer is now in the process of retrofit. Finally glued the wings together and tomarrow I'm going to epoxy the servo tray back into the wing and super glue the fin back into place. I'm thinking of taking the monocoat off the whole plane and replacing it with new. This would give me some experience with monocoat. Just in case I might want to build a plane kit-not a ARF but a kit or building a plane from a set of plans. I bet Henery can guess what plane I might build from a set of plans.

I thought I was bad with 3 planes unfinished and 1 I cant fly! :yickes:

Rob is right I need engines, servos and receivers to get 2/3 of the planes in flying condition. Swapping out engines and receivers is getting old. As the old saying goes- it just takes MONEY. :hyper: :banghead:

I had high hopes for Russell.
His buddy Tim bailed out before learning anything much and I figured that Russell had the grit to hang in there.
I can't keep up with what planes he has/getting/gonna get, what radio he uses, planks or choppers, :chopperbrain: :heli_smiley: North or South ender.

Russell done stomped his trainer plane by getting in too big hurry to eat the hot chili and has robbed the engine from his next step up plane the Ugly Stick.

Now talking of learning to scratch build from plans.
Next he will be taking up drag racing over at the speedway. :checkerflag: :moped:

Flash In The Pan, just a Flash In The Pan.

Don't worry about it Russell, as long as you are having fun, is important thing. :parachute:

Russell. I just don't know anyone else who swaps servos, receiver and battery pack from one plane to the other. Eventually you will get confused...
Part of the hobby is to fly our contraptions, not tinker with them. If you want to tinker, then get a helicopter...

Now, instead of purchasing another plane, or worse yet, plane plans, buy yourself some servos (no, they DO NOT all have to be $60 each, as some want you to believe...), a couple more battery packs and a couple of receivers. Set all three planes up on ONE computer radio and get them in the air...

At least you have the luxury of spare time, which I don't have. Stop wasting it! <_<

Russell Russell, :what: what can I say.

Msincredible - November 1, 2007 11:52 PM (GMT)
just curious, exactly HOW would you glue your uhhhh..... "yogurt slinger" to your plane?!?! :yickes:
exactly what are you people doing with these planes?!?!
guess that answers the question of why ya all have so many that dont fly though huh? :hysterical:

I have to take back all that I have said about Russell doing more airplane collecting than flying. :embarrassed:

Sunday I witnessed an astounding display of model aviation aeronautical skill by Russell.

He was flying his Ugly Stick plane in a very controlled manner.
His last flight was just about in the dark and without any night flying lights.
Russell brought it in for a perfect landing on the runway, with no bounce, and engine still running. :hyper:

I think that Russell has graduated from his trainer plane for good.
Russell has been very active at field through the weekdays and getting in much practice.
