Russell Ward has a new Hangar 9 quarter scale cub.
He has promised that it will fly this weekend.
What do yawl think?

Oh, Mr. Ward has a Cub?
IT will probably fly... But will HE? ;)

Well...This weekend has half come and gone.
Russell was at field Saturday, but no new Cub was in sight.
Russell had to leave early to go meet his girl friend for dinner.
So I don't think that I remember hearing any promise for Sunday.
We will see.
I think that Russell is cooling off some on the Cub adventure.
I think I heard him complaining about the little scale compass on Cub insturment panel not pointing true North.

Well you definately would not want to fly a new plane with a faulty compass!!  ;)

I didn't make it to the field today. Did the cub fly or not? :D

Russell showed up and did have his Cub with him.
Russell was in a delima as to which pit he would set up in, the North or the South.
He finally choose the North pit area so his Cub would feel at home with the other Cubs.
Soon the Cub was surrounded by most all the North Pit Cub mechanics, helpers, and test pilots.
I heard much grinding, sawing, fileing, and dremmeling going on as final adjustments were made to Cub structure and equipment.
The engine did get fired up for first time and seemed to run OK.
But due to some tech problem or another, the radio setup did not get completed in time for any flight before it was too dark.
So, the Cub did not fly this weekend.
Looks good for first flight maybe next weekend.

Sigh...
You'd think that with all those North End Cub experts they could get the thing airborne...

Especially since it's one of the cubs that comes 95% done!!!!! ;)

Even Justin couldn't make it go...

:D

Well, the next weekend for the Cub has halfway come and gone.
Saturday Oct. 6 and no Russell or his Cub was to be seen at field.
Of course there were no other Cubs present either.
It was a Cubless Saturday, not that many people noticed.
Maybe Russell felt that his new Cub would be lonely and they stayed away. :paci:
We will see what Sunday brings. :hmm:
Maybe there will be a family reunion and all the Cubs will be present to welcome the new Cub into the ranks. :penguin: :penguin: :penguin:

The entire weekend has now come and gone.
No Russell and no Cub.
I hope a simple Cub has not whipped Russell. :ouch:
Another good oportunity for Russell and his Cub to redeem themselves will be this Tuesday Oct. 9.
We are having the ACMA monthly meeting at our flying site Irvington Field at 7:00PM.
Would be a good crowd on hand to see a Cub flight before the meeting. :hyper:

Might have been to China if things worked out with his Chinese girlfriend from the Chinese Buffet over in Daphne. :hyper:
We just picking Russell. :P
Russell might have gone back up home to Minesoda for a rest from the Cub pressures.

 That Chinese stuff is pretty good (it tends to make a man act a little crazy) and the foods not half bad either. :hysterical:
alvinonline - October 9, 2007 01:11 AM (GMT)
I will stick to the Mexican stuff, easier to fill up and goes down with little prompting.
That Chinese stuff just don't smell right and has a strange twist to it. ;)
:newstuff: :what: :spin: :roflmao:

If you were to ask me for my humble opinion I would say that I don't believe either one of Russell's two new mentors will be able to handle that little Warhawk on its next first flight...
But we'll see...
