Has anyone thought of, or know if it is possible to charge your flight box off your cars electrical system? Obviously the alternator charges the 12V car battery why couldn't it also charge your flight box battery on the way to the field?

If you have a fast or regular "DC" charger capable of chargeing a 12 volt battery, you could fix a plug on it to go in your accessory/cigar lighter receptaple.

As for as useing the charge system on car engine...seems I have heard of it being done, but will wait till more knowledgeable folks check in with ideas.

Andy?????????

You can charge it from the car.......Done it for years.
But to get the best charge use a slow charger!!!

How would you go about charging? connect directly to the battery or do you need a current limiter? What are the chances of overcharging?

Your car charging system will not over charge the battery!!! or it would overcharge the car battery.

You can connect to any 12 volt connection you have.
