Dose anyone willing to part with a inexpensive pattern plane? Or know someone that dose?

Are you still looking for a pattern ship? I have two Storm EX's. One was my nr 1 plane that I flew regularly and received a number of "best aircraft" awards and various pattern competitions. The other is my backup, new never flown. Both were built by me, when I was professionally building for some of the big dawgs of pattern. The are scratch built all balsa and foam from Brian Hebert plans. Fuselages are glassed and painted with acrylic laquer and cleared with polyurethane. Wings and stabs are monokoted. In my hayday I was fetching $3000 per plane. I will let them go for $500 each. Plane one will be with everything, ready to fly (engine YS-120AC, more than likely needs to be broke down and cleaned because it hasn't ran in a few years). Nr 2 has a few servos already installed along with the retacts but has never flown and is painted in twelve colors. Let me know if your interested.

DaleT, some of these guys who want a "pattern plane" really have no idea...
They just want something to hot dog around... Nothing wrong with that, really! If I had the money I'd buy both your planes. Price is definitely right!

Yeah, those were the days, with you and John Kenn, Kerry and Mike Dugan, Jeff Foster (yeah, even him...), my son Greg and that German hero of yours... :D

Most new pilots these days are satisfied doing a loop and a roll (during the same flight!). And throw in an occasional Immelman turn, maybe...

"Pattern" — these days, at our field — means flying ovals until you run out of fuel...

I'm thankful for all the stuff I learned from y'all, building- and flying-wise!...

Elton Sullivan has a brand new plane that would make a good pattern plane for sale.

4star40 - November 13, 2007 03:39 PM (GMT)
Do you know what it is?

Johnny_J - November 13, 2007 04:32 PM (GMT)
I just remembered it's a SHOWTIME.
Can't remember the price but it was a good deal for a new plane, it hasn't even had a anything attempted to be installed in it. He had ordered it and went to the hobby shop and they had one so he couldn't wait so he bought the one there.
Then the one came in the mail!
